Topic: Reunion
Message: I just got back from the Enfield Reunion last weekend.
I was sorry that more people couldn't be there.I rode with a friend of
mine he took his 2002 Electra Glide me on my 98 Bullet[more people asked
me about my bike than his when we would stop.] It was 184 miles one way.
I had never ridden that far in one trip before. It was a really nice ride
except it was hot around 95.We didn't get there till Sat. afternoon we
missed the poker run. But we meet some really nice people and had a good
time. When the Hog Roast was starting My Hay Fever was starting to act
up we went back to the Motel to get my medicine. When we got ready to
go back to the Reunion my bike would't start we fooled with it awhile
but it was hot out so we just stayed there and missed the rest of the
Reunion. Before that some people had wanted to exchange names and address.
my name is Steve Kateman Rt1box257-A Marshall MO. 65340 E-mail skateman@murlin.com
I would be happy to here from any of you. Will back t!
o my bike not starting the next morning it did start but just didn't seem
right. It ran OK on the trip home but not as good as the day before. It
didn't want to idle right or start a couple of times had to push start
it a couple of times. But we made it home OK. We had checked the plug,
points, and carburettor. I kept thinking it was the carb. But the next day
I finally figured it out a couple of days before the trip I had adjusted
the tappets got them to tight and didn't have enough compression. The
bike is running real good again and back to starting on first kick or
so. I was a little dissapointed that Classic Motorworks didn't have any
bike accessories at the show it is nice to see things in person. I did
have a nice chat with Larry from Classic. I think his name was Larry he
was kind of a big guy.I hope they have more Reunions. PS I am now looking
for a more comfortable seat anyone know of a good one let me know!

Topic: 1959 Enfield Indian Chief
Message: I am working on a 1959 Enfield Indian "Chief"
(700cc twin - basically
a re-badged Super Meteor). The original battery box & cover are long
missing and I am trying to re-create something close. I have not been
able to find even any good quality photos of a stock set-up for this
bike. If anyone out there has anything like an original service diagram/
owners manual pages or even just some good quality detailed photos
of this item, I would greatly appreciate hearing from them.

Subject: Re: MESSAGE BOARD ENTRY
can you tell me I have a 1996 500cc enfield that is stock as of now, is
there a way to get say 5 to 10 horse power more out of it? i have some
interstate to run and the 18 horse power not fast enough , i can go about
60 then the bike rpm are running harder then i like to hear, also most
hill take me down in speed. I love my bike and would like to run it on
a trip next year. i read about people that change the jetting, pipe, aircleaner
(k&n), gearing. i have checked my timming and got that down fine.
a little history about the bike i got it new in july it had been
in storage at a bike shop, it is new, now I have 830 miles on it
,I've been reading anything i can about the bike from old mags from
the early 80s. I like this bike as much as my 1983 Harley and my Yamaha
650 twin 1978 .
so if you can help me please email me if you like, give me a phone number
that i can call you at.
thank you

Five extra horsepower is more than you might thin.
It is a 25% increase from stock. We have customers who are getting upwards
of 40HP from their Bullets, but at they are sacrificing reliability. We
do carry many high performance parts and they are shown in our catalog
and in our website. We are coming out with a new catalog in a month or
so which has even more ways to get some extra "snort" from the
Bullet. If you would like more information, please call us at 1-800-201-7472

Topic: Let it wear in!
Message: All new bike owners. A Enfield is like fine wine takes
awhile to get the best out of it. My bike has never sounded better or
run better than this year it only took three years to get right. It was
not the bike's fault most of it was mine. Trying to shift to fast, not
taking my time starting( flooding it out.) One kick starts now,no missed
gears. A joy to ride.

Topic: Performance
Message: I am interested in buying a new 500 classic with side
car. I would like to know what kind of crusing speed can I expect, with
the side car attached and with out.
With a sidecar the bike will cruise at 55-60 comfortably,
the same as without the hack. It just takes longer to get their with the
sidecar.
