Topic: Geez what a Thrill!!!
Message: Wow!...I bought a brand new Royal Enfield with a solo
saddle...I was gonna get a Kawasaki or Honda cruiser, but when I saw that
advertisement for the new Bullet Classic and learned they were only 5
grand, I was mesmerized with the idea of owning one....so I neagged my
wife untill she said "O.K., go buy one, just shuddup!".......Boy,
the first day I rode it around my small hometown, I was so proud my helmet
barely fit over my big head...I could not beleive the looks I got. Whenever
I stopped people would stare and/or gather around me....too bad I am happily
married, cause this bike is a chick magnet...O.K.,O.K., it attracts older
women with saggy boobs who have been around long enough to appreciate
the history of the machine, but thats bett!
er than a poke in the eye....It's fun to ride slowly by front yards of
upper-middle income neighborhoods and pretend not to notice the envious
drooling looks of the poor Men mowing their yards who look up to admire
my ride and wish they could figure out how to convince "their"
wives they need one too...poor bastards. Anyway, The Royal Enfeild
has served my mid-life crisis well....Go buy one!!! td

Topic: Triking a Bullet
Message: I'm thinking about building a trike on a Bullet. 22
horsepower isn't enough. How much power can I get, without hurting overall
reliability? I know I can open it up to 612 cc. At that size is there
an overheating issue? Could I drive it 2000 miles and know it won't break
down? Any help will be appreciated.- dlm

Topic: I.D. 1939 Royal Enfield
Message: Trying to I.D. 1939 S.V. vertical R/Enfield. It could
be a C model, but it looks like WD-C model. Is WD-C a military bike only
or was it also civilian?
My other half (who has been restoring bike for some years!!!!) thought
it was pre-war & non-military. Needs help or manual to finish job!!!
Engine No. 13460 also C/7132 Frame No. C13400 I think. Hoping to find
technical info to get bike going a.s.a.p.

Topic: Interceptors redux
Message: Bring back the 736cc Interceptors of the early 1960's
and I bet they would not only sell, but provide an additional draw for
the standard units. I owned a '63 that was just about the best bike I
ever had. (except change from steel oil lines to braided to avoid oil
loss)

Topic: starting the BULLET 500?
Message: Hey yall,
Got my first motoRcycle the royal enfield bullet last month and my first
lesson on it today.I am distraught.Please help me out here.first I don't
know jack about bikes and tomorrow I'm taking a saftey class through the
weekend.I have never ridden and here is my story.
The bike is a bullet 500cc.It was patterned after the 54' it is titled
64' but it is at least a 90 something.Where can I tell?
It is a 4 speed on the right hand side.It hasn't been ridden in a 1/2
year and today we couldn't get it started either.I bought a new battery
charged it up and we put in some 93octane cleaned out the carb checked
the spark plug and tried to even push start it.
MY MAIN PROBLEM IS WHAT I SAW.WHEN HE CRANKED DOWN ON THE KICK STARTER
IT CAME BACK SO FAST IT SCARED THE .... OUT OF ME.IS THIS TRUE? DO ALL
THE BULLETS DO THIS.WHAT DOES IT NEED?
WHY IS THIS HAPPENING.LAST NIGHT I VISITED THIS SITE AND GOT THE ORDER
OF HOW YOU START THESE THINGS.THE GUY WHO OWNED THE BIKE BEFORE ME STARTED
IT THIS WAY.1ST HE TURNED ON THE FUEL TAP (TO THE SOUTH POSITION)2ND HE
DEPRESSED THE CHOKE LEVER.3RD HE PRIMED THE ENGINE BY LIFTING THE DECOMPRESSOR
LEVER AND SIMULTANEOUSLY CRRANKED THE ENGINE WITH THE HELP OF THE KICK
STARTER FOR 4-5 TIMES.4TH HE SWITCHED ON IGNITION.5TH HE WATCHED THE AMMETER
GO TO NEG.6TH HE GENTLY DEPRESSED THE KICK STARTER CRANK AND BY LIFTING
THE DECOMPRESSOR LEVER BROUGHT THE AMMETER NEEDLE TO CENTER.AND LAST HE
BROUGHT THE KICK STARTER LEVER BELOW THE FOOTREST LET GO OF THE DECOMPRESSOR
AND LET THE KICK STARTER COME UP AND THEN WENT FOR IT.AFTER A FEW TIMES
I THEN SAW THE KICK STARTER COME BACK SO FAST I THOUGHT IT WOULD TAKE
HIS LEG OFF.HE SAID THAT'S THEWAY THE BIKE BEHAVES.I FREAKED.IS THIS TRUE.CAN
ANY THING BE DONE ABOUT THIS.I CAN'T HAVE A BIKE LIKE THAT.I LOVE THIS
THINGAND i CAN'TBELIEVE IT.PLE!
ASE HELP.DOES IT NEED A MAJOR TUNE UP.WHY IS THIS BEHAVING LIKE THIS.I
HAVE ALMOST $3000.00 IN THIS WITH SCHOOL AND ALL.PLEASE HELP. i DIDN'T
TRY TO START IT THE WAY YOUR INSTRUCTIONS BECAUSE I THOUGHT HE KNEW THE
BIKE.hE SAID THIS IS HOW THIS ONE STARTS.i AM SO SCARED I FEEL HELPLESS
.IS THIS AN OMEM OR SHOULD I HAVE IT CHECKED OUT SO THE PISTON CYCLES
CORRECTLY?
ANY HELP PLEASE.WAITING AND FREAKING OUT/THANKS FOR LISTENING
