Topic: message board
Message: I have looked forward to reading your message board each month. Lately, "no dice".
Are the classic employees so busy with selling and importing these wonderful machines that they no longer have time
to get the messages onto your website?
If it is being displayed elsewhere, please let me know as it was nice to look forward to questions and comments carried
on it.
I miss it and hope it will be up again in the near future.

Topic: synthetic oil harmful??
Message: (second time posting, lost the first one) hi all, at the service interval an oilchange was
on the list. i pondered on whether i should use fully synthetic oil or stik to the mineral oil. made up me mind and
sloshed in fully synthetic. after just under 100kmh there was a puddle of oil on the crankcase directly below the points
cover. this makes me think: has the oil dissolved the seals? if this is the case: must i change back to mineral or change
the seals and can i then keep on using synthetic??
can anyone comment on this please.
kind regards from the UAE,
arthur

Message: I have a new RE Classic 5 speed. I have fitted the gold star exhaust mod and now the brake
pedal is depressed by the pipe . it seems that this exhaust is for a right foot shift bike and I do not have that option
on this five speed am I right ? I like the sound I don't want to change back to the old exhaust what are my options
anybody?

The movement of the brake pedal is adjustable, you may want to
try that.

Topic: Enfield Drawings
Message: Hi there,
does anyone have technical drawings which show a bullet 500 from both sides, front and back as well as from top, all straight
ortographic? I would like to model a bullet in 3d (Maya) and would need these drawings for this purpose (should be quite detailed
and good). I´m a bullet owner from Austria / Salzburg cheers, Christoph

Topic: vacuum hoses
Message: There are two vacuum hoses coming off the carburetor. Neither is attached to anything at the
other end. Could someone tell me what these go to? Thanks.
email: robertshearon@sbcglobal.net

Topic: 1947 J Model
Message: I have recently picked up a '47 J model Enfield, it still has 40's style plug which still
sparks up, but I was wondering what the modern equivalent is "B7es or B8es?"
Also what type of oil does the gearbox
take.
The bike runs like a beauty but is
completely unrestored.
Is there some kind of knack in changing
gears, I'm having a bit of difficulty
in working out this double gear lever
set-up.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Also the frame number is J3636 &
3636 also appears on the engine,
does that make it a '47.
Regards, Marcus Hall
