Topic: RE 500 Fury
Message: Years ago (early 70s) I traded off my 500 Fury for a 1933 45. At the time it was a good trade for me, but now I wish I still had that Fury. It was the spare parts bike for a dirt track effort in Redwood City, CA. Very nice.
That brings me to the question... Are there any around? Perhaps the one I once had. It was all alum with a silver-grey painted frame. More details as needed. If I could get my hands on one again would be a dream come true. Anyone?? I live in Oregon, but the location wouldn't matter.
Tanks, Pete

Topic: selection
Message: I need some advise. I'm 59 and have been a rider off and on for many years. Had a TIGER 11O TRIUMPH in 1960 and in 1999 bought a new THUNDERBIRD. I didn't like the seating position. Don't laught, thought it was to forward. I think I can love the BULLET. Has anyone ridden both ? I think it can be a geat neighbor hood ride.
I love the connection to the old days also.
Again, thanks for some guidance...

Topic: Biting the Bullet
Message: Hello,
I just bought a new 2002 Military. I pick it up in about a hour. I want to get the right side shift, left side brake kit unless someone has one they're tired of. I'm also interested in the old fashion solo seat and smaller mirrors. I'm guessing the mirror mounts aren't standard metric threads? I like the look of the bulls eye taillight as well. What spare parts besides the basics like points and cables should someone keep on hand?
Thanks!

Topic: Sponsor for trip
Message: Can anyone help me? My friend who owns a royal enfield is planning a trip from India to Moscow to London back to India via Europe and Egypt on his bike (of course) and his cannon digital camera. Do you know of any institute or body who could sponsor this trip. He is a professinal photographer and could sponsore all or bits of the trip, places covered, people interacted and of course royal enfield in action!

Topic: MILITARY BULLET
Message: I recently took delivery of a new 5 speed military bullet and I am very dissapointed with it.there are rust bubbles under the paint on  the fuel tank ,the rear guard has a large blister in the paint, the wheels have surface rust on them & the metal panniers are also rusty. I have talked to my Australian dealer about this, he put in warranty claim but the factory said this is what you get in a Military model.I have never seen them advertise the Military model as a second rate model, but this is what you get.Has anyone else had this problem or know how I can take my claim  futher.
email: PNGVET31@oilsearch.com

It sounds like you bike was left outside before delivery. I cannot speak for Australia, but in the US a bike in that condition never would have been delivered. If the paint is a factory defect Royal Enfield would warranty it with no questions asked. I doubt that the factory actually said this as they never question us about warranty claims.

Topic: Alloy Barrels
Message: I am thinking of trying the new alloy barrel with a 8.5 to 1 piston. Does anyone out there have any experience with this setup? I ride at 4500 to 8000 ft. elevation (Nevada)Thanks in advance.Chuck
email: steamengine29@yahoo.com

The biggest single advantage of the alloy barrel is its ability to dissipate heat better than the cast iron barrel.
