Topic: Carb Tuning
Message: I have found a nice reference for doing carb work on my Bullet. The web site of www.mikuni.com has a section for carb tuning that provides a twenty page manual in pdf format. It is very clearly printed and provides detail on the carb and how to adjust. A lot of tech detail if you are in to that but helpful for those whose just want some help.

Topic: Model G carby
Message: I am the owner of a 1946 Model G 350 and was hoping to replace the worn Amal carby with a mukini or similar for reliability. My question is has anyone any information on the best carby/jet size combination that would suit my bike. My local bike wrecker has quite a few to choose from. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Regards Ken

Topic: Shipping to the U.S.
Message: Does anyone know if Bullets are manufactured in compliance with U.S. Federal motor vehicle safety standards?
If not, what is the best way to have a bike (in this case a 1996 500cc) meet those standards in order to ship it to the
U.S.? --Jay
email: jrollins@usaid.gov
Reply: The Royal Enfields which are imported into the US meet all DOT and EPA regulations for safety, noise and emissions.
Bikes manufactured for the Indian market and other market DO NOT meet these standards. It is not a question of changing
parts and equipment, but rather of having the factory certify to the US government that the bike meets all standards. Because
of this it is NOT possible to legally import a Royal Enfield made for other markets.

Topic: Beginner bike
Message: I'm looking for a first bike for my wife.
My first bike was a BSA 441 Victor so I'm used to a single cylinder design and having to do some work to keep a bike
on the road.
My wife is 5'4" so height of the bike is an issue. She needs to learn the basics and then have something to ride
along with me. I'm a back road rider and realize that this bike is not a highway child. We live in Central Massachusetts
and have plenty of great country roads to enjoy.
Just looking for some feedback.

Topic: Wheels
Message: My 02 Bullet has quite a shake to it at speeds and I finally got around to balancing the front wheel.....It
would be nice if there was no runout but I did correct the balance with some heavy solder wire. You can't believe how
much more enjoyable the bike is to ride now with no handlebar shake. With a shorty muffler and rejetted to 112.5 main,
the power comes on quite nice at full throttle. I'd say its putting out quite a bit more than the stated 22hp. Of course
I lost a little mileage but who wouldn't for a little power.

There are 2 wires going from the Rectifier; 1 white which was connected to the yellow and 1 green which was conected

Can any one tell me how the 4 wires comming from my new engine should be connected? What are the orange one for?

has around 6,000 miles on the motor, has a dent on the tank and a scratch or two here and there. Any Ideas on a fare price
would be apreciated!

Topic: Looking for a Bullet in Kansas
Message: I admit it, I am a bullet addict. I grew up in India and rode a bullet before I rode a bike. I own a Yamaha
and have previously owned Harley etc. No disrespect, but Royal Enfield Bullet is Royal Enfield. I am looking to buy a fully-operational
60s,70s or 80s bullet. Please let me know if you have one for sale and I will drive up to check it out if the equipment
and price is right. Thanks a bunch.

Topic: Fasteners
Message: What nuts, bolts, and screws are now used in the building of the current Enfields? In the 50's and 60's British
bikes used Whitworth fasteners in the frame and engine; BA screws and nuts in the electrics. What is used currently?

Topic: Newbie RE-Throttle query
Message: Just purchased '04 Bullet, and am still running in. But I am having trouble figuring out quirky throttling
on the bike. It seems fine at 1/4 throttle but go above that to say 1/2 to 3/4 and the bike "dogs' or seems to hesitate.
Erratic. Wonder if it could be a clutch issue or perhaps timing. Have adjusted the valves at about 300 miles, but CB points.
Could use advice.
