Topic: Vintage Taillight Recommendations?
Message: Hello All,
I just bought a Bullet 500 and I'm trying to give it the true vintage look. What taillight do people recommend here? I like the idea of the LED tombstone light. If I get that, it looks like I'll also need to get a new license plate holder. Does anyone know where I can get that? Or, should I get another non-DOT taillight with integrated holder and add one of those aftermarket super bright LED flashers to the bottom?

Topic: Spring Start up
Message: The weather here in the north country is warming up, reached the fifties today. I decided to get the battery off the charger and go out to the garage and see if the bullet would fire-up! Yes, I winterized it last fall by
running the gas out of the carb and removing the battery. Put stabl in the gas tank and covered the bike for it's winter hibernation. To my surprise, the battery was alive and turned the motor of the bullet about 3 times before it fired and ran like a top. I warmed it slowly and rode it in the parking lot for a few minutes. Shifting was stiff but when it was fully warmed up it ticked over with a nice steady beat. It's too cold yet to ride. My state borders canada and snow is everywhere. It's officially spring but we are not out of the woods yet around here. Can't wait for warmer weather.

Message: I have a bullit 500 and the exaust is turning blue by the head.
Thanks!Is this normal

Reply: Some bluing is normal for all motorcycles. If it extends far down the pipe or happened very rapidly you shold check your carburetor mixture and the ignition timing

Topic: headlight
Message: I have a 2002 with the stock headlight. Does any autozone, napa, walmart type car headlight bolt and plug in the same? It's only been 4 weeks and 700 miles before it burned out.
Thanks for any help.

Reply: If you get a replacement from one of those sources be sure that it is a motorcycle bulb. They are different internally than Automotive bulbs. Also check the voltage at the headlight terminals with the bike running. It should not be any more than 15 volts on the AC scale. If it is, then the voltage regulator for the headlight ( small black box under the seat) is blown allowing excessive voltage to your headlight thus causing it to fail.

Topic: If only
Message: If ONLY Royal Enfield would begin making a verticle twin again, they couldn't make enough of them fast enough. The single is a neat looking little bike, but it's just too damn small.
