Message:
Plan on attending one of our great events this summer. We are planning two Royal Enfield family reunions and we will be having an open house/summer picnic here at headquarters in Minnesota.

Here is our current list of events in chronological order:

June 23-25 Royal Enfield Summer Picnic and Open House We want to show off our new facility and give us a chance to meet more of our customers. The picnic will be held in our home town of Faribault Minnesota and will include tours, a great ride in the Mississppi river country, technical information, contests, food and great discounts on our parts and accessories including free freight for anything you decide that you can't live without. The tentative schedule is: Arrive Friday June 23, Ride, contests, tours, tech sessions etc Saturday June 24, and home on Sunday June 25. There is no fee for the event, food on Friday and Saturday evenings will be provided. Lots of lodging/camping is available in the area. Give us a call at 800-201-7472 for more information. All bikes and brands are welcome.

Reno Royal Enfield Family Reunion Held on Labor Day weekend in Reno Nevada. Some unbelievably beautiful rides in the Reno/Lake Tahoe area are planned as well as food, fellowship and fun. This has been a very popular event in the past. Pre-registration is required. Call Guy at: (775) 673-9611 to register and for more information. You can see a wonderful slideshowfrom last years reunions here.

Note: Tait from our office has gone to this event since its inception and
has had so much fun that he has permanent "dibs" on it.

The "Original" Royal Enfield Family Reunion/RALLY ON THE RIVER 2006 The Midwest Royal Enfield Family Reunion will be held in September AGAIN this year. Back by popular demand the rally will be held the last weekend in September (9-29, 30 & 10-1, 2006). The location will be the same as always Green's Campground and Canoe rental in Steelville, MO. We will once again be joined by the Moto Guzzi National
Owners Club and the combined event is now being called the RALLY ON THE RIVER 2006 to eliminate some of the confusion caused by more than one event called the Family Reunion. Here is a link to somepictures of last years rally. More details to
follow and watch for info at www.interstatemotorcycles.com email: bdunkus@fidnet.co.

Note: I have gone to all of these events in Steelville and it is well worth
the trip. The riding is beautiful and Bill and Mary from Interstate and Skip and his family from Greens are the consumate hosts!

Topic: exhaust and jetting
Message: I am thinking about buying the 50's style exhaust kit and K&N filter. Is the exhaust easy to install? Or should it be done by dealer? Also would like to know anyone's rejet sizes after installing this kind of kit.
email: mmoore@grpress.com

Reply: Both of these items are easy to install. You will need to re-jet your carburetor. In general a stock carb in this configuration will need a main jet somewhere between 115-130 and a pilot jet between 25-30. There is not way to tell exactly because each bike and environment is different. We do sell a jetting kit which gives you a selection of jets.

Topic: I can't find a real product review.
Message: I am having a heck of a time finding product reviews on Royal Enfield from people that own them. I would really like to see a place that has a full review done from sombody who has had one of these for longer than a couple of years, who can give a full description on overall reliabity, problems that they've had, overall satisfaction, etc. Cannot find anything on consumer reports website.
Any suggestions on where I can find something like this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Topic: 1994 Enfield 500?
Message: Hi All,
I'm new to Enfield motorcycles and am completely in lust over them. I've ridden many other bikes before, but am somewhat determined to buy an Enfield.

There is a dealership near me with a 1994 Enfield, with barely over 500 miles on the clock. They want $2700.

Is the 1994 as good as the new bikes? Is there any reason to believe the miles are too low? Is this price decent (the new ones go for $4900)? Anything in general to watch for on these bikes?

I would greatly appreciate any info you all might provide!

Message: I've owned a variety of bikes over the years, mostly Suzuki cruisers, and currently ride a Victory V92C.

I've toyed with buying a military spec Royal Enfield since I saw one at the yearly motorcycle event in St. Louis.

I have not worked on a bike since my 1978 Suzuki GS750, but maintenance does not frighten me.

However, I have read many mixed reviews over the years, mostly concerning reliability and service. So, should I take the plunge? Around here, everyone has a big American cruiser and I'm a little tired of fitting in, you know what I mean?

Topic: Bobber ala BRMC (Wild One)
Message: In the movie "the wild ones" Malon Brando's club, the BRMC, all rode British bikes. I couldn't pick out any Enfields, but there were a few Matchless and AJS singles. Has anybody built an Enfiels bobber to reflect the outlaw bikes of the 50's?

Topic: Electra (X) Color Availability
Message: In the March Newsletter, the colors listed for the Electra were listed as red, green, silver, and black. In the April newsletter, there is a mention of four colors and a link that directs you to royalenfield.com Electra page. There is no black color option there. Will black be available on the Electra afterall? The black Electra was THE Electra that made it's US debut in Dec. '05...
email: la_ley733@yahoo.com

Reply: The truth is that the Electra comes in 5 colors. The factory website is not accurate. Our first container contains Red, Blue, Silver and Black. There is a very handsome Green that is not in that container but will be available later this year. When we see how the colors sell we will probably narrow it down to 3-4 colors, but that will be in 2007

Topic: Thinking Of The Electra X
Message: I am thinking of trading in my bike, a 1985 Honda Nighthawk 650 for a new Royal Enfield. I am kind of amazed at the lack of power, considering a Ninja 250 can go over 100 mph and gets 75 miles/gallon. However, the RE has the history behind it and the cool retro looks. Definitely not a Triumph Bonneville, but still nice. My main concern is financing options and dealer locations, as well as model availability. The dealers in Wisconsin do not sell the Electra X or even the 5 speed models. Would I have go to to another state's dealer to find that model or the newer 5 speeds rather than the 4 speeds? Are trade ins accepted? Is there any financing?
email: rlee@yahoo.com

Reply: The Electra X is will become available in the US in late April 2006. All of our dealers will have them and I know for certain that our Wisconsin dealers have them. Also all Royal Enfield's imported into the US since 2004 are 5 speeds. We have not imported 4-speeds since them so any new bikes on your dealers floor will be 5-speed models. Each dealer has financing and most accept trade-ins
