Topic: Dissipating Heat Due to Increased Performance
Message: I'm looking to increase my performace a good
bit but I whant to do everything possible to dissipate as much heat due
to the increase in performance. I've already added the 34 Mikuni Carb
and the Freeflow Exhaust. I'm looking to upgrade to a 535cc kit along
with the dual exhaust port head. Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated
b/c I want to make my RE as "bullet proof" as possible - yet
cruise at highway speeds when necessary.

Topic: buying a classic 500
Message: Hi guys
I love the classic 350/500 and have ridden a couple of examples and very
nearly bought one last year but didn't. Instead I've got a lovely Cagiva
Raptor 650. Now having second thoughts and seriuosly thinking of buying
a new classic bullet whilst they are still available here in Great Britain.
Waht is it like to own a classic (4 speed no electric start) model ? are
they reliable? what goes wrong? and should I buy the 350 or the 500 -
over here they're now cheaper than a year ago - so very tempting.

Topic: tire conversion?
Message: I currently run the avon venom's on my 2003
500 dlx but I was wondering.... are there any kits available that would
allow a wider tire to be fitted? I'm not looking for the extremes that
you see on tv but rather something that's a bit wider. I ride a lot in
the mountains so I have a lot of curves and spots of moisture to contend
with and a bit more rubber contact would be nice....

Topic: Syntheitc Oil
Message: In December, Arthur had a concern about synthetic
oil dissolving seals. I don't think that is the problem; I have been running
full synthetic in my '02 500 Bullet ES since new (bought new in May'02
from a dealer) with out any problem. The bike has 8000 in town commuter
miles on it and the only problem I have ever has was a broken + connection
on the coil. Recently converted it to Right hand shift - what a sweet
difference this makes! I have repalce the oil pump with the HD unit, heavy
clutch springs, 19 tooth countershaft, ported the head, rejetted, short
muffler, and a K/N filter. Runs strong right up to 91 MPH. At some point,
I would like to go the big-bore kit and crack the ton at least once -
just to say the bike could do it. I can't say enough good things about
this bike. - Trapper

Topic: twingle
Message: If I remember correctly "Twingle "
referred to a bike(puch/sears) that had two pistons on a single forked
rod and twin exhaust ports. Maybe Im getting too old and senile but thats
what I remember the term twingle to mean

Message: Anyone parting out a bike? I need a bottom end.
Crank and rod are shot and the labor to rebuild is a killer. Will consider
whole bike if price is right. 410-802-3509

Topic: Twingles
Message: In the non-thumper world, twingles refer to
twins that fire both cylinders at the same time - so the overall cycle
is like a thumper, it's just two pistons firing instead of one. Some small
displacement (160cc, 175cc) 60's and early 70's Hondas did this I believe.

Topic: compression release lever
Message: I just bought a 2002 bullet.
Can anyone tell me what the compression release lever is used for?
The previous owner did not know!
Is it to aid in cold starts?
Thanks,
Ken

The decompression
lever is a vital aide to starting the bike, hot or cold

Topic: Twinger
Message: Any idea when the dual heads "twinger"
will be back in stock? I
would think that this would be an essential add-on/upgrade and it looks
great. Instead of wanting "my two dollars" I want my "two
exhausts"....
email: sherman8tor@myway.com
The "Twingle" for
those of you who don't know, was a single cylinder head that had two exhaust
ports and two exhaust pipes. No performance advantage, but it sure looked
and sounded cool. We had 10 prototypes made. We do not have any plans
for more, but we hve been getting a lot of calls so...........
