Topic: Electra (X)
Message: I have a new 2006 Electra, and I am curious if anyone has done any
extensive touring with the new lean burn engine? Currently I only have 500
miles on it, but am planning to do some touring next summer after I have
finished more of the break in process. Anyone who has done some extended
cruising on the Electra I would sure like to know what your experiences have
been.

Topic: SW Florida riders ...
Message: Just curious ... any Enfield owners in the SW Florida area? There's a
dealer in Sarasota, but I've yet to see another RE on the road. Everywhere I
go, people ask about the Magic Black 65 I've got. Interestingly enough, I've
just returned to motorcycles after almost 45 years thanks to my son. while in
the service in the early 60's in California, a freind and I bought a Triumph
and cruised all over California. When I left the Navy in in 66, the bike stayed
with my freind and I didn't ride again until last year when my son shoed me a
centerfold of the Bullet 65 in a biker mag. Damned if it didn't bring back a
wild memory or two. My son and my wife and I drove up to Sarasota one Sunday AM
last October " just to check it out " and we trailered it home that day ...
breaking it in over that 100 or so miles would have meant a two day trip! So
... this oldtimer's back on two wheels and loving it. It may be even more fun
if there were others like me interes!
ted in a road trip now and then or whatever. For now, I'll be satisfied as
the only guy with thwe bike everyone is interested in.
Drop me a line ...

Topic: ISDT Enfield photos required
Message: My father worked for Royal Enfield and was at the ISDT in Wales in 1949. I'm trying to find any photos of him at the event and I'm also looking for any photos of the bikes to build a replica of Jack Stocker's 350cc.
Can anyone oblige by emailing and copies of photos they might have or suggest a source?
Thanks. Jake
