The new Unit Construction Royal Enfields with Electronic Fuel injection are here and available at most of our dealers.

We have spent a good deal of time this winter traveling around the country putting on training seminars for our dealers so that they are fully informed and trained to sell and service this new motorcycle. The Classic version of the new bike is available in Black and Velvet Green (British Racing Green) while the Chrome model Deluxe is available in Red and Black. While the look of the bikes are very similar to the Classic bikes we have always sold, there are a few key differences.

I am very saddened to announce that George Helm – one of our dealers and a legend in the motorcycle,  Royal Enfield, and Indian world – passed away yesterday at age 87.

We’ve set the dates for our annual Minnesota Get-Together. Join us at the Eagle Cliff Campground in Lanesboro MN on the weekend of June 19-20. Lanesboro is in a particularly scenic part of Southeastern Minnesota.

Yesterday brought our first order of Inder sidecars and trailers to the warehouse! It’s always exciting when a brand new product arrives, especially when they’ve been as highly anticipated as the Inder line has been. We were excited as we unpacked them and we weren’t disappointed – there were a lot of great improvements made by Inder since the prototypes we evaluated and the quality on the production units was even better than we expected!

Watch for the Inder sidecars to be available with select dealers and the Inder trailers to be available with select dealers and on the Royal Enfield Online Store very soon. We’ll be sure to post more information as we have it!

2009 is looking to be an exciting year, bringing the largest-ever Royal Enfield model line-up to the United States.

After a long delay, we finally have sidecars back in stock!

In early November I spent two weeks in India. Much of my time there was spent with Mark Hoyer and Jeff Allan from Cycle World Magazine. They’re working on an article about our new bikes and the “New Royal Enfield Company”. In a companion piece, Peter Eagan from Cycle World is also doing an article on the AVL Bullet. I had a great time with Mark and Jeff and I think they also had a great time. Although these two are extremely well-traveled, this was their first time in India.

The new bike was unveiled by Royal Enfield Motors CEO R.L. Ravishendran at INTERMOT in Cologne, Germany. The new motorcycle, which is called the Bullet Classic C5, is new in every respect and is Royal Enfield’s announcement to the world that it is here to stay (and hey, it’s already been here longer than anyone else, anyway!).
