Ya, looks like it needs work.  I emailed the seller and the bike is actually in Deland (20+ miles away) and at over $900 its out of my budget for something I will not ride much.  If I could have get it for $500 or so, well..    I could give him a call and take a peak but at this point I don't want to waste 2 hours of mine and the sellers time on something I am not willing to purchase.

Just rechecked the description, he has a pretty good writeup now.. Interesting..

Most folks call these bikes Flying Fleas due to there use during the war as an airdropable bike for partroop forces. They even had a neat little frame that they were secured into for the airdrop by parachute. They used to be a dime a dozen but have grown more scarce as time goes on. They were refered to as the model RE after the war and were sold from Redditch until the end of 1953 or so. Royal Enfield developed the 150 Ensign that basically replaced the model. The Indian version of the Ensign was named the Lance.

The 2-strokers were cheep and reliable little motorbikes. That Miller flywheel magneto might be a little hard to find now days. $1000 is pretty steep for a bike that is missing parts and crusty as it is.

Sold! 6 bids and $1000
Pretty neat to hear the history of this bike. UK in 1944 was a pretty lean place.

That was the bid that beat mine!  Guess I should have gone higher. I could just see explaining why I bought bike number 7 and it doesn't run!

Ah...it was only $500 too much...when he's done putting another $1000 into it,it may be worth $1500...for the money,I'd rather have a decent used Bullet 500...
