Wife and I went out for a ride...When I got home I decided to take apart the headlight of the yamaha apart to see if their was anything loose inside that might be associated with the ringing sound that I get around 65-70 mph or at higher  RPM's throughout the gears..Had the screw driver in my hand and then  my neighbor next door walkes over with a couple of beers to see what I was up too..Within two minutes he noticed that my two air horns were barely touching each other..Go figure, I probably looked at them 10 times while checking everything else for looseness, etc....Nothing like a second pair of eyes...That was it....No more ringing..It was driving me crazy the past 2 months./
Oh Magoo you done it again

I've been away for awhile. Got the hack bug last summer. This December I got a new project.
1956 IMZ M72m. A 750 flathead with a mighty 22 hp.

It was a yard ornament for a number of years. My first complete rebuild, from transmission to speedometer....

AFTER (still need to reattach sidecar!)

Nice work, Sam!

Assuming that's MIG, may i ask what gauge wire you used, speed, etc? I have some sheet metal work to do. I think it's about 22 gauge metal. Is .25 wire OK?

"...Assuming that's MIG, may i ask...."

I use .024", ER70S-6 , with my auto-feed off and set manually for a(slightly) higher feed rate of 40 ipm
and  amperage for 20-22 ga material. Gas is the usual "75/25" of Ar/C02. Works consistently well for me....

Say,Motoj, that's a great looking IMZ-I've been following your story on ADV Rider. An old 'flattie' is the best type...

Thanks Sam!

I've been sticking things together with a HF fluxcore for awhile. Good enough for repairing the wheelbarrow and such, but I recently bought a 220 Lincoln and I have a lot to learn.

after a recent move from central Illinois to the western slopes of Colorado we are enjoying the ride with more than cornfields to look at. Yesterday we ventured out to find a high dessert plateau.

living in central Illinois I envy moving to Colorado.

I looked at my 1982 Yamaha XJ650 Maxim and took inventory of things to do, remove forks install new seals, new rear shocks, inspect rear brakes, buy after market side panels and while painting them touch up the paint on the rest of the bike. I use John Deere safety green implement paint. Oh I think maybe I need to make a air box lid not sure though seem to run fine with it not on. Yup and then I have to fix the exhaust on my Cadi and the AC. Dang looks like the Maxim and Cadi is going to have to wait my priority is my getting my C5 some custom paint (WWII pinups or bomber girls) and a custom pedestrian slicer.

I rode from Minneapolis across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan's UP, Ontario,
To Lake George, NY. Spent a few days at Americade then rode down to Washington DC for three more days. Met up with the wife at Dulles Intl and rode to Gettesburg, PA for two days then dropped her back at Dulles. A pleasant ride across West Virginia then a little hot foot across OH, IN, IL, IA and MN home. 3700 moiles, 14 days (8 in the rain)

Blew out the fork seals on the IL interstate I-74 so a little TLC is in order before the August trip to Red Lodge, Montana.

http://www.enfieldmotorcycles.com/forum/index.php/topic,14576.0.html That should be the thread. It's a riot switching to the right shift bullet, then back to the duck.
