How do you find those? I searched Ebay and found nothing. Right now I'm so broke I can't even pay attention! The W650 and the Honda GB500 have been favorites of mine since they came out, with the Kaw being slightly ahead on my list.

The GB, or it´s tame incarnation XBR, is dirt cheap here in Germany. Big numbers have been sold, and obviously  they´re pretty tough beasts. Quite often there are mileages of 70000 km+, usually they going away for 500-800€. Many decent ones with much less mileage for below 1500€! That´s a temptation... ;D

Big Don  -  Nice!
It amazed me last time I was over there how I could be sweltering in shirtsleeves in Monument Valley at noon, and piling on layers of clothes as I drove through snow up in the Rockies at evening.
Stopped off at Ouray for food & sleep - great little place.

Yes that is an amazing part of the country.

If you get bored sometime there is a link in my signature that has some pretty good HD video of the trip.

Thanks, I'll take a look.
I've had a Drift HD clamped to the front of my bike for a while, but not very adept at editing just yet....

Nice DRZ, Big Don.  I've seriously considered the Super Moto version of it.  I think it would be the perfect commuting bike for the city.  I think they are amazing bang for the buck and seem like blasts to ride.

So the rear pads were in contact with the rotor.  They heated up and expanded as the brake fluid started to boil.  Good thing it didn't lock up!

It was the shop's goof for not finding it at the 650 mile check, BUT that's a type of thing I should be inspecting before each ride.

Quote

Had a similar happening with my Royal Enfield!  I had replaced the standard Rear Brake rod nut with a "Rear Brake Rod Wing Nut" from CMW. Yes it is handy for quick adjustments, BUT...  The facility where I work held a picnic. As usual there was often a crowd of "sightseers gathered around the "Antique Motorcycle".  Evidently some cleaver Peckerwood decided that my brake was loose, and decided to keep me safe by horsing the Wing nut tight. In the first eight miles I noticed that the bike was a might sluggish. After twenty miles I noticed that I couldn't pull away from the traffic light.  I pushed the bike into a nearby parking lot and found the rear wheel was completely locked up and the hub was boiling hot.

The moral: BEWARE of the oglers and sightseers! many are Gremlins in disguise  8)
Also, get rid of those wing nuts. (thank God I haven't bought the wing nut for the oil filter. ::)

I rode my Triumph T100 a little didn't do anything to it.

I have had it for a couple of months I like it.  I know there are faster, smoother, cheaper bikes out there but I am going thru my British bike phase in life right now.  I just wanted a little more power for those times when the wifey wants to ride.  I still enjoy the Enfield and plan to keep them both.  And yes willw the W650 is a nice bike but they are a little hard to find.

As is that Triumph dear boy  -  very nice  8) :)  I know class & style when I see em.... ;)
Nice backdrop too..... ;D
I was tempted myself, but I'd already fallen for the Dubbya, and I knew where to find one, and all those reports of how they just never go wrong (shhh  -  mustn't wake the gremlins :-X )

They are great bikes........IMHO a great counter point to my Bullet!

Geared correctly they are a hoot offroad...and geared another way guys race them in supermotard competion.
