Thanks! The P40 Warhawk was just what i was thinking about. I'm not sure what kind of beast the teeth are meant to prepresent on the sidecar- a friend of mine pointed out
that sharks don't have tongues or pupils like I painted. I just think of it as the Hack Monster.

The AVG in China was known as the Flying Tigers, a cat, not a Tiger Shark, a fish, that used the mouth as it's emblem along with a "Flying Tiger" on the side of the fuselage. P-40's official names were Hawks, Warhawks, Tomahawks, and Kittyhawks. There were mentions of a shark mouth paint job, but there was never any official or unofficial name or model of the P-40 as a Tiger Shark.

I had to put the flying tiger graphics on my KLR because I always dreamed of being a fighter pilot and made models of the P-40 when I was a kid. Those pilots were brave and effective in China but I'm not sure how I feel about the whole illegally funded mercenary thing today. It's an interesting history lesson well worth looking up for an intertaining read.

Paint job looks great!  Wow... checked out your link... Really cool to see the project as you were working.  Looks like you were BUSY.  Finished product is fantastic.

The shark/tiger/monster face make me immitdiately think of the more modern, A-10 Warthog.

Had a great day today with the non-RE bike. I apinted the other side of the sidecar nose this morning:



Then, to dry the paint I drove it to the Charm City Mods Vs. Rockers event across town. Very fun, with loads of vintage bikes and scooters, a Pin-Up Girls pageant, live bands, and a judging contest with all different categories. I etered my rig in the Bits category- Bits of this, Bits ofThat. My first ever entry in a show- I got Runner-Up. It was a fun day, no doubt!

Installed new float valves and overflow hoses on my '76 Honda CB750F.  I put it away and will resume riding my '09 AVL daily to work.  It gets better mileage!

I trade my C5 plus $$ for a 2012 Bonneville. Don't know what I'll do with 3 times the power, smoother ride, 6 year TRANSFERABLE warranty. I still like nostalgic rides, but it must be a reliable motorcycle first. Later.

+1 I really like my Bonneville, it has all the British heritage that I like.  Planning to keep the C5 for Sunday rides.   I'm goin to miss you man!

I swear to my wife that I'm going to do this whenever the gremlins strike.  They are nice machines.  But that damn thumper hears me and runs well for a week or so just clinging on to life.
