Well, I went up to Azusa to meet up with the BSA Owners club for their ride to Mt. Baldy. I
Someone had decided how the roads were doing and if they were open for the ride. It's a good ting they checked, since the roads weren't open because of a high fire danger. So they decided to take Foothill Blvd about20 miles over to the road that was open, but isn't exactly exciting.
So the Three Bulleteers decided to take our fortunes in our own hands and ride across Angeles Crest. We definitely won out in the ride department, but didn't get to enjoy the tales from the Beezer Group.
We had a great ride, the weather was great. It was just a lot of fun. I tacked another 175 miles onto the Goose.

Looked at it.  Wanted to fix something, but it doesn't need anything.  Enfield withdrawal is tough, especially at night.

Road the Bolt in the rain for the first time.  The Bridgestone tires felt glued to the road.  I was almost worried I'd get overconfident before the road grease was washed away, but traffic didn't let me go over 45 anyway.  She'll cruise at 45 in 2nd gear and I'm not used to that yet.  8)

That's a good looking and practical machine. I like it! Hey D the D keep us informed on your bobber progress will ya? I'd be tempted by one of these if I didn't have the Enfield.

So I miss the Iron Barrel for running errands around town, glad I got the Bolt, wish I had both.

That's awesome you are enjoying it so much.  I'm definitely getting another bike within the next year, but I cannot part ways with my AVL.

Yeah Guys, I'm loving it and hating the rain.
If RE didn't announce a parallel twin for 2015 I was planning to get a Bolt or Sportster 48 next year for the highway.  I was planning to keep the Bullet for my local errands.  2 bikes with their own purposes.  The Fates had different plans so I went Bolt early.   Missing the ammo cans and the freedom to go across fields and rough stuff.

Just took a little ride over to British Customs and a romp through Carbon Canyon and a little side trip to SoCal Triumph to check on their Enfield supply. They had three Military C5s on the floor. A short 85 mile ride.

Blacked out the shiny side covers and exhaust shields on the Bolt after work today.  Sorry about inside pics.  It gets dark so early now.

Followed a buddy to the HD dealer to run chase as he test rode a Sportster 48.  I'm not a Harley basher, but...  neither of us was impressed.  The fit and finish is excellent and it looks really cool!  But that's about it.  The 1200cc isn't as torquey feeling as my Bolt 950.  But to be fair, the Bolt's torque reaches peak about 400 RPM earlier and yet falls off at about the same RPM/wider band I think.  Other complaints were: his hands went numb in the first 20 minutes from vibes (no, he doesn't death grip or lean on his palms); he bottomed the suspension out numerous times even though they supposedly adjusted the shocks to his 200 lbs; also no ground clearance as it bottomed out the frame on small speed bumps in a parking lot; 6 ft is too tall for this bike and he was cramped up - heck @ 5'8" I felt cramped; it couldn't run away from the Bolt and I actually came from behind and passed him when he tried to run away from me; can't do a reasonable U-turn/handling isn't very good for such a small bike; feels heavy for it's size.

Got home to find my Yamaha back seat and Inner Fender Eliminator Kit at the door.  Installed those tonight so I can carry girl people with me now!  I'll add pics tomorrow.
