Clutch cables

This is kind of a follow on to a previous thread about clutch woes...and the semi continuing issue with WHITEY....previously...the clutch cable failed at the gear box....got (2) replacement OEM cables and the actuator arm mod....well it turns out that the bloody cable is to dang LONG, and after adjusting the cable tension there was still some slop in the shifting, the adjusting barrels at both ends of the cable were all the way out...and Justin and I just were not happy with the hard down shifting and missing NEUTRAL... so Justin and I collectively though....while we're in here tinkering lets take a look at the clutch and friction plates....they were NASTY...ordered some new plates and discs from CMW...and am finally ready to install these in hopes that is will cure what ills the bike....BUT I'm thinking "the cable will still be to long"...any thoughts or ideas....one that came from the previous thread was to find/use a longer barrel adjuster....I'm game for suggestions

If the cable is to long then send it back. If you bought it from CMW they will send you a shipping label for the return. I have been sent wrong parts in the past and they have rectified all orders that had been shipped wrong. I would also suggest using the upgraded cables because they are worth the extra $$$.

Call CMW and ask for the premium cable/s.

Have you tried adjusting the clutch release rod inside the trans cover?
