Improving/replacing rear shocks

Any one had issues with the stock shocks on a G5? what did you replace them with?

The stock shocks have too much compression damping. for guys over 200 pounds they seem to work OK. For lighter guys far too harsh. The Hagan's rule.

My original shocks never showed up as being shite until I was doing a 3 week tour, just replaced them with Hagons, but being away for a month(without RE) I can't test them but will report back, many people go for Hagons.

Call him up - give him all the stats - weight height of shock etc and he will send them out fast !

Being an old guy, who grew up riding oil damped Girlings on my british iron, & now on a small pension, I Couldn't see Hagons. So I took a chance on a new pair of conventional oil damped shocks with 250 lb springs. $99. on ebay, Entirely chrome, & work very well for me. Thanks for you opinions. Craig

I'm planning on using a set of stock Harley airshocks when the rear support on my B5 starts bouncing.  (again a pair of discards from those Harley upgrades).

After reading all the reviews on this forum and others, I just ordered the Hagon Twin Shocks, Type CC1 with stainless steel half shrouds from Hagon Shocks USA. Looking forward to getting and installing them to ease the bumps of the Philippines roads!!

Cheap Shock Update Bulletin:  I really like them,  especially now that I've ridden them awhile. Getting rid of the stock shocks & changing to Dunlop K-70 tires & refilling the front fork, have made all the difference in the world. The stock setup made surviving cornering a real concern. Gone is the once floaty,squirmy rear end, & lacking road feel front & rear. The $99. 12.5" Chrome oil filled shocks with 250lb springs, are made by ENDURANCE (same maker as enfields stock shocks) They feel like the Girling units I grew up with, & I couldn't be happier(even if I couldn't afford Hagons) These are very pretty also.  I bought them from John at:  motorcyclesolutions@hotmail.com  or 419-720-4313    Hope someone else on a budget find this helpfull.

Replaced the shocks today with the Hagons. Nice improvement, especially on rougher roads.
