I've always considered that the Vincent V twin as one of the most beautiful motors ever made. However,  I think this creation has topped it! Stunningly beautiful. Thanks Aniket and Tom. cochi

Man, I was continually thinking, "This sounds like a cool idea, but why bother when you could just use an ironhead or Evo sportster?"

But the love going into the project shows, and I am pretty much astounded at the results.  But now we gotta know...are you going to simply rip an Albion 4-sp to shreds with that power output?!  What about the primary?  Any ideas for a transmission and drivetrain which can handle the engine?

I see a lot more blood, sweat, tears, spent rupees, and mutilated parts ahead on the trail to glory...godspeed, Aniket.  You are a skilled and brave man to take this on.

It all depends on how much power output goes thru that gearbox. If the engine is built mild enough to not exceed the output of the Constellations and Interceptors, then the gearbox should hold it. The same basic gearbox with a longer shaft was used on those Redditch twins.
A stronger clutch will be needed.

But when the power goes considerably higher with a more performance oriented build, then we are in uncharted territory for that gearbox, or for the newer 5-speed gearbox. We don't know exactly how much they will take when pushed to higher limits.

There are options to use other gearbox units with changes to the primary case to suit hooking up to a different gearbox. There are quite a number of possible gearboxes out there which will take the power and can be operated off our external primary system(with mods).
Then we have to look at if we'll "shred" any of the rest of the drive line. It's just the normal way of things when pushing the envelope. I've spent a good portion of my life doing that, so it's really not a scary place for me.

That motor has identity and authenticity. It looks branded like it was in quantity production rather than just a prototype. The Enfield top ends look like they really belong with the crankcases.

Edward Turner would have approved. He had the trick of designing engines that looked nicer than they needed to.

Great work.

Good question !  It is made of mostly "old" parts now innit ?  :)
I can break it better,,,,at night, in the rain, on the trail,, 20 miles from nowhere.
