Hi Brandon,  How are the finned covers progressing, been thinking how I'd like to include that operation in an upcomming oil change.  Thanks, Craig

I definitely need a plain one, but I would wait for the finned one!

  • Yes, shrubberies are my trade. I am a shrubber.

Looks like there is definitely a market for a tappet cover like this... We are talking for an Iron Head Bullet i'm hoping ?
Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say Ni at will to old ladies. There is a pestilence upon this land, nothing is sacred. Even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress in this period in history.

No; this is for the modern UCE engine.

Unfortunately or fortunately?, b.sheets has parted ways with RE. Not sure if we'll have this tappet cover anymore..

But, if people still want to get rid of the "EFI 500" cover, you can get the Hitchcocks tappet cover. However it says "Hitchcocks Performance" on it. Still better than the EFI 500.

I have a friend that used to be a machinist and still knows some guys that are.  There are machine shops all over this city.  I could look into this if you guys would like.

That would be great!  I'd like to have one similar to the one I had on my BSA Goldstar (see photo at beginning of the thread) Although Machinists make about $50. an hour, I'm not sure I could afford one.  I had hoped I'd get one cheap from Brandon Sheets, Having thought up the whole thing. Wonder why he disappeared?
I think it could be a money making enterprise to have a batch made.  It would be good to space the fins to match those on the Crank Case. Also the bolt holes don't need to be Countersunk, that takes up to much room. They will look just fine with regular stainless Allen Head Screws.
I have never had my Plate off, & don't know if there is a trick Gasket Etc. But I would think the replacement plate would seal well with a flat back, just using Silicone Form A Gasket.  Keep Us Informed if you go for it. THANKS!
Best Wishes, Craig McClure

Remember the UCE Bobber?

http://www.enfieldmotorcycles.com/forum/index.php/topic,16305.0.html

Take a good look at the tappet cover:

draggin said he inquired of the builder about selling a finned cover.  Obviously, the deal was done!  C'mon, draggin, we want details!
