English Dual Seat on a C5

Anyone have any luck installing one of the English dual seats on thier C5?

Someone did a modern Bonnie seat not long ago.  I suspect it would be similar.  They did use the subframe from the accessory pillion to mount it.

Well, it shows one on its website for C5's, no mention of the other Enfield models.

I hope it's more comfortable than the saddle Corbin makes for the GL1500 GoldWing...

(how could it not be? *That* was hands-down the worst saddle I've ever sat on; worse even than the OEM Enfield brick.)

Corbin seems to be a love it or hate it seat.  They are very firm and tend to have a similar shape across models: wide dished seat, pronounced edges at the rear, narrower at the nose to let your legs down, and a rise at the nose to keep you from sliding forward.  I love them and can ride all day with no discomfort.  If it's not for you you'll never grow to like it.

Sargent will take your seat pan and completely repad and re-upholster it to your specs.  Also nice seats and more customizable than Corbin.  Corbin will let you tailor details but always use the same base shape and firm foam.  Sargent will let you change more.

I've used both, they both make nice seats in my opinion.

i loved the corbin on my speedmaster but hated it on my bonneville-the edges tended to put my legs to sleep.
i had a sergents on my klr, and have a russle day long on my vstrom.
so far the most expensive (russle) is the best.

The Corbin dug so far into the backs of my thighs I almost had to add pads to the legs of my Aerostich pants. I had a Russell Day-Long on my 1500 GoldWing and a Bill Mayer on my old GL1100 GoldWing, both of which were *far* more comfortable for me.  I've heard good things about Sargeant and Bill Mayer's brother Rick, too.

I suspect that if the gel-stuffed Lycett replica doesn't prove adequate, I'll have Bill or Sarge carve me a new "vintage" single tractor-seat.

Never heard of the Russel seats before.  They look really comfy and also more ugly than anything I'd ever want to add to my bike.  I'll admit it, I'll suffer a bit for vanity

Yeah, guys, I'm really not interested in the modern stepped style seats like what corbin is putting out.  I'm really after that oldschool English dual style.  Y'know something that you'd see on a Triumph Thunderbird 6T.

I had a Corbin on a Ducati 900SS, which I actually still have (the seat that is, anyone need one? wink, wink, nudge nudge), and a one on my Sprint RS. They were both great seats for general blasting around, but if you wanted to go seriously fast, they  were rather hard to hang off of! That dished seat is hard to slide on, or off!
