A Big thanks to One Craig McClure!
« on: April 25, 2013, 08:14:13 AM »
A BIG shout out to Craig McClure for assisting me with my quest for a short style silencer for my C5!  A friendly and all around nice guy full of plenty of interesting conversation and a previous owner to a number of very cool vintage bikes!  Thanks again Craig it was a pure pleasure doing business with you!

I also installed the short bottle silencer (silman - India brand) on G5  and I love it, old thump is back. It does have baffles in it.

Do you have open pipe or baffles ?

The one that I got from Craig is internally baffled but it also has a straight through pipe on it as well.  It's def louder than the stock but certainly more polite than the fishtail I've had installed on it for some time now.

Looks really good, and I like that the chrome is already discoloring.  That means you actually ride it! ;)

Very pleased to have made the aquaintance of CHEIFHARLOCK. He is a super person, just wish we lived closer. The muffler in question is a Hitchcocks short EFI silencer that came in a box of parts with my bike. My G5 Deluxe has a slightly baffled cocktail shaker.  Appreciate the kind words.  Craig

I'm running dual cocktail shakers on my '58 Trailblazer 700cc twin.  Freaking love them!  Though I must admit, that shorty is looking pretty good.   :)

Craig, which cocktail shaker are you using?

Hi,  According to the previous owner, it is a NOS 1960's British made, upswept. I had the same one on my SR500, which I bought on Ebay- So I just had to buy this 2010 G5 Deluxe. It is a 2 piece assembly with a bolt in shower drain type baffle. It's fairly quiet when idling, but barks some on acceleration. Bike runs well & strong with it. Ah, sounds of my youth. Cops here don't mind, but I never crack it on when they are watching. See Photo.
Best Wishes, Craig McClure

Definitely not the Emgo unit!  Nice piece of kit.

Thanks,
