Real wheel Spokes

Hello People,

I am the new owner of a 2003 Royal Enfield Bullet 500.  when I got the bike I noticed it had 6 spokes missing in the rear. So i ordered some new ones from nfieldGear.com  When I received them and tried to have them installed. I noticed that they are shorter then my original spokes that were on before.  So I did some research.  The spokes that I ordered from nfieldgear say RR wheel spokes (inner) yellow and (outer) green Part No. 143790 & 143792.  Then I noticed that there are some on ebay with a part number 141135 & 141136 that are also for the real wheel.

what the hell does the "RR" mean, and did I get the wrong ones??

any information would be great!

Sounds a bit like you got the wrong ones, but the part nos look right. What size rear wheel does your bike have. Did someone slip on a 19" one?
Have you called NFG about them?

Your bike should have a 19" wheel on it.
The spoke #s you have are correct. The other set of #s you found are the old #s and are also correct.
My old parts list (95) has them listed as 141136 (dust cover side,outer) that # is now 143792 in the new book.
The other one is # 141135 (drum side,inner) and that # is now 143790 in the new book.

Does "shorter" mean they are too short to engage the nipples by at least 1 diameter or does it mean they don't run almost all the way down thru the nipples?

If a thread has an engagement of one or more thread diameters it is strong enough to do the job.

With good hardware one and a half bolt diameter is the ideal engagement. This is not nearly enough for the rolled threads on spokes. They need to go almost through the nipple.
