I do it by feel ,...be careful.
I did crack one of the fork to axle pinch plates (aluminum), then purchased metal ones from CMW's.

Just checked two different manuals and both just said "tighten" the spindle nut and "tighten" the pinch bolt.  Nothing in the torque tables.  Weird, but this is RE.

REpozer, he's got the new style tubes without the end caps.  His has a spindle bolt like the back wheel and then a "pinch" bolt that tightens one side down on the spindle bolt to keep it from spinning.

Yeah, "tight" doesn't mean ready to strip the threads.  You can judge the feel, and use loktite for a little insurance if you want.  Nut pretty tight, pinch bolt just snug.

I've probably mentioned this before but the amount of force a nut or bolt makes when it is tightened is quite amazing.

Even a little thread like a 6mm can produce a big clamp load.
For instance the "puny" 4 foot pounds (48 inch pounds, 5.424 Nm) applied to one of the bolts that hold the oil filter cap on a UCE will create a clamping load of 102 pounds!

A big thread like a 10mm torqued to 20 foot pounds (27.12 Nm) will produce a load of 3048 pounds.

Tight, and then a squeak more, has always worked for me, on every bike I have ever had.

Good luck.

It is about 55 ft/lb for the C5 axle. Hope this helps!
