1999 Bullet Mirror Qustion
« on: September 04, 2013, 06:43:40 AM »
Howdy RE Owners. New to The Enfield scene. So far great. My question is about the  factory rectangle mirrors that I want to swap out with rounds. The Right side mirror post seems to hve reverse threads. Is this right ?. Can I purchase round mirrors that clamp onto the existing morror post? I have checked Ebay, Nfield gear, Cycle gear. Your thoughts please.

Remove one and measure the diameter of the threads.  It's either 8mm or 10mm.  You can also fit Vespa or Yamaha mirrors with the reverse threads on the right side.   You just need to know if it's the 10mm or 8mm.
There are also adapters so that you can use regular threaded mirrors like Honda and HD or "Universal".

The mirror threads on my G5 are opposite too.
One is left hand and one is right hand but I don't remember which is which.

The reason I know is I bought some replacement mirrors with right hand threads on them and only one would screw in. :(

Amazon sells "Yamaha right reverse " mirrors. 10mm. Easy to find if you as for it. RE uses the Yamaha mounts.
