Mr. Mazz and his thoughtful mind
« on: June 17, 2014, 11:25:56 AM »
Since riding my Enfield and starting my riding life, my creative mind is back after my troublesome years. Ive decied to write short poems/stories about my experiences on my Lizzy and others tales.

Here is my first rusty one ;)

Quote
Early start
Morning frost
Life given to machine
Machine gains a soul

Gentle smoke from man and machine
Both souls warming in the dark
Sparks ignited in both
A love is remembered

Leg goes over
Clutch in, one down
Slight twist
Away we go

Few lights, fewer cars
Stopped for no reason
Brows furrowed
Still waiting

Finally green
Grin returns
Out of the city
Behind time, let it rip

Sharp corner, ease her in
One with machine
Perfect line

Few miles to go
Grin never stopped
Slight colour in distance
Throttle opens more

Finally there, side-stand down
Helmet off, slight flame ignites
Smoke from man
Steam from machine

Sun rising, worth the cold
Colours explode, darkness replaced with a glorious orange and yellow
The light dances through machine

Shadows form, grin widdens
Sun climbs, glow fades, colours of unexplored roads dance on the horizon
Sparks on ground, machine roars.

This is why I ride.

Mazza-

Smoking kills.

JUST KIDDING!  I love it!  I have an early morning commute, and I can relate to much of what you write.

Waiting, before 6am, at traffic lights set on timers - no traffic, anywhere, and there I am, sitting.

I enjoy commuting with my regular riding partner, too.  He only comes along when the sun is shining.  At sunrise, I've got the sun on my left, and my shadow is cast along the roadside to my right.  I love how much sunlight passes through the open spaces of the bike - even the flickering shadow reveals its vintage nature.

I'm sure I look ridiculous, too tall and skinny, sitting upright, dressed in shiny yellow -  but my shadow always looks cool...  8)

More, please!!!

Everyday I leave at 6:45 and beat the sun to work, traffic though. This one waa mainly a sunrise ride, very beautiful. I will have more before the weekend I can assure :)

Tickle her button
Watch her drip
Kick her hard
And off I rip

Mr Mazz you paint a beautiful picture with words, but at least Scotty rhymes. I thought all poetry started with "There once was a man..." Here, I'll start
There once was a man born to ride.
He dressed himself all in cowhide.
He said to his wife
Time to live my own life
He rode off while she stood there
And sighed
 ;D

On rainy days motorists say
"How can he ride in that spray?
A GT in the rain?
The battery will drain,
He'll be stuck there and get in our way!"

And another: it's been raining here today and I had a close call.

The car drivers say its a shame,
He takes his bike out in the rain.
He knows we'll forget
When the road becomes wet
That it's slippery, we'll hit him again.

That's it,no more limericks from me.

The early bird gets the worm...
But the shiny shaking clattering deafening Enfield gets the ladies ;)
