Stainless steel exhaust?

 ;)Anyone ever heard of a stainless steel exhaust system  manufactured for RE's?If so please let me know.Thanks scooberton

We have fooled with these over the years. We never did anything with them becuase of the expense for what thought would be a limited market - heck everything for the RE is a limited market, the cost and the extra weight. Doesn't make it a bad idea though.

i'll bet you could take yours to a good muffler shop and have them make one up just like it in stainless.

I had some stainless pipes made up here in Thailand. It is normal to have ALL pipes made ,--for anything .

  Anyway the pipes were chromed as well and they are very dissapointing. They were not on  an RE but an Intruder 1400. The pipes were dull at the engine end before I got it home. It does'nt rust but the part that blues is dark and dull like a frying pan. There rest of the pipes is fine,-- but the hot end!!!!

       They said they did'nt even have the normal steel option.

    Stainless steel is not gold.

I have a full Stainless steel system on the Piaggio 400, the header pie is hardly seen, but the silencer (muffler) has a straw brown tint to it, very difficult to polish out.
It went the same on my Aprilia RST 1000 as well, I dont think it would suit the Bullet.
