22 Liter tank...
« on: September 07, 2008, 07:15:57 PM »
Hi Kevin & guys & gals at CMW...
In the tech section, CHarte mentions a fellow in India that is making 22 Liter tanks...  And someone else in the same thread mentioned that Watsonian Square advertised 20 Liter tanks for Enfields.  I wonder if it's possible for you folks to offer larger tanks that can replace the standard smaller tank (I only get about 150miles on mine before it goes on reserve.  It'd be very nice to have a tank that would let a fellow go at least 200 (or more).

Is it possible you might be able to line up such things at a reasonable price some time? Curious Iron Butt minds would like to know. ;)

I'd be interested, too. It could give me a 600+  mile range on the diesel engine... biodiesel stations are still hard to find...

I love the idea of a larger fuel tank.  I have often wished someone would make one that holds 22-24L.  I would probably buy it immediately.  It would have to, at least look like it belonged on the bike.  You know, like it was a factory option or something.

thanks Gary!

I've put in an enquiry as to whether they have the 22L tank in military green. I'll report back wth price.

BTW what seat did you buy and how much? I'd love to get the old solo style in leather.

They took them  a day or 2 to get back to me when I ordered initially. But fter that things went well.

Check this thread

http://www.enfieldmotorcycles.com/forum/index.php/topic,2465.msg24580.html#msg24580

Cost me $198.00 including shipping for both.  The seat has held up well and is very comfortable, wife likes the pillion also.  One thing is the front connection on the saddle is not sprung but uses 2 metal bars.  I would suggest painting the metal bits with RustOleum as they have a little surface rust in spots now that I have been driving in the rain.

edit... messed that up...

Darn. Wish i'd seen it earlier. I ended up bying the Lycette seat which is essentially the same but in whatever plastic naugahyde cover... I wanted leather.

Oh well, when it gets worn enough I'll have someone recover it in leather.

I'm another who would like to see a larger tank  ('07 Classic Green).  I've safley made it to 200 miles without reserve a couple of times, but usually fill up after 150 just in case.  I could do a whole week's commute with a 24 litre tank - should be able to do 350 miles without worry...

Email?

I used this page to ask for a price..

http://royalmotorcycle.com/enquiry.asp

Once they responded and we discussed things they sent me a link to an ordering and payment page.

My credit card company put a hold on the payment and called me,  they flagged the rupees  transaction as possible fraud.  Had I been to Dehli lately?

I used their enquiry form first and when they did not respond to that I emailed to [email protected] which is what they list as their email address. I've added all @royalmotorcycle.com addresses to my Safe Sender list so any reply should get through...
