« on: December 11, 2008, 03:38:21 AM »
Anybody here got one? It comes with a hole not a slot for the wire so what gives?

They are all over ebay, watch, some are plastic w/ chrome plating.
There are grommets for slot or round hole. Mine was a cheezy grommet,, so I drilled it out and installed a good silicon grommet.

No, I mean the nice one sold by our host. Nice and heavy, quality piece to be sure but putting it on would require either either extending the hole on the side out to the edge or detaching and re attaching the wire every time it's removed. :P

I'd extend the hole making it an open slot using a Dremel tool.

When you take it off just slide the wire through it and set it off to the side of the CB housing. No need to disconnect the wire.
The grommet makes a better water seal than the slot does so if you ever get caught in a frog strangler you'll appreciate it.

ChuckD, the way to do this is as T120rbullet explained it above.  It is how I did my RE billet cap.
