Where to find a Pedestrian Slicer/ Front plate
« on: August 29, 2013, 01:10:29 AM »
Sorry, first post & I've tried to find this answer everywhere, but I need to know if there are some specifically made for REs or not. & Where on earth ya buy 'em! I've looked everywhere.

I just put a downpayment on a 2012 C5 in maroon, looking to customize it a bit with tan seats, tan leather saddles, and a ped slicer, but the latter seems to be the most difficult to find!

I recently purchased one on the Nfield gear site.  I ordered mine in basic black without the lettering.  I wanted to custom my own text and I used mailbox letters.  The slicer stands braced 1/8 inch or so above the fender on 3 threaded brass bolts.  The trick is lining them all up in a straight line and allowing for the curve of the fender.  If you space them out to the pre-drilled holes in the slicer, the curve of the fender throws it off slightly.

Hitchcocks has them too, as do a number of the Indian sites.

However - I don't think you can do better than the one b.sheets got!  Pricey, but just look at it!

Nfieldgear lists them

With Nfieldgear, it's best to call them at 1-800-358-0938 to make sure they have some available.
They have a habit of having a lot of things on "back order".

I ordered the same one b.sheets has, it is pricey but it's the best looking one I could find....well, the only one I could find in Canada, and you get to pick your letters. $90 CAN including shipping from the UK and fittings.

I have a fancy one of the cast aluminum affairs that have sculpted & polished aluminum frame around the plate, where the numbers go. I haven't put it on the bike, but had an urge to paint the eye on each side that you see on boats from India.

LOL.  That's kind of cool in a tacky way.  ;D

I'll just ditto what others have said: Frampton's is the shit. They are probably the best you can get anywhere. From anybody.
