Front axle removal?
« on: March 05, 2009, 11:25:55 PM »
Got new tires.  Had to improvise balancing because we couldn't figure out the front axle.  Do the bearings have to come out just to take the axle out?

Did you ever figure this out?

What did you get for tires?

You'll have to register that as an UNCLE ENFIELD, as there doesn't seem to be anything you haven't changed on it yet! :o

Unfortunately if you wish to remove the classic front wheel spindle, you will have to knock it through, taking one of the wheel bearings with it >:(

Bernie!  Missed your post.  You phunny guy you.  I've been referring to the bike as a Musket Ball, but I may need to reconsider now.
About the only tires I could find were Avon Something-Or-Other.  Seems to work well.  Haven't changed everything yet- the jury is still out on whether or not to spend the BigBucks on Hagons.  If I ever buy a lottery ticket, I'd like to get Progresives for the front, too.

Mr Classic, I'm glad somebody finally got back.  Seems like a ... questionable design.  ?  What do I know?
