About the only thing I see that could be ditched is the center stand. Not sure how much that and brackets etc adds up to. Your bike would look right at home on a paddock stand! Nice

I think I saved a lot of weight with an upholstered aluminum fender-seat that I had fabbed up.  The stock seat, fender, and brackets all together were heavy.

Lighter alloy rims save weight where it matters most, too.

The battery weight can be cut quite a bit, or even eliminated with a capacitor. (I still like having the battery...a 4AH antigravity model weighs almost nothing...)

I used triple trees for the fork instead of the casquette, but I don't think that saved any weight in the end, despite looking less massive.

But the centerstand, despite being a boat anchor, was just too damned useful to let go of right now.  Maybe once I've got the bike running perfectly and it's proven over long distances it won't seem so necessary...

There should be some news soon.
The bike was due to go to Chumma to have the roller rocker head put on it. I am guessing that it is there now.
However, it will need to be measured for new pushrods, so there will be a little waiting after that to get them ordered, and in.

Some more pics from the show last month. Lots of lovely old machinery. Enjoy!

My heart just skipped a beat. That bike is gorgeous !

That pancake filter: Can it keep up with the GP head?

I'll fix that. ;)

Thanks, Amar.
That pancake filter is obviously not ideal. Well spotted. My old Ace can wouldn't fit so I was thinking of something like making the battery box, which is right there, serve double duty as an air filter housing. Or maybe just mount a bellmouth. I'll see.

The expectations for this motorcycle must be sky high - I really hope it does go like a rocket on pump gas, we know it should handle OK! I just hope the motor isn't going to out-perform the brakes, take care.  ;)
