Heartbeat of the UCE

Hi,
I am a newbie to the forum. Just joined today. I am from India and owned a 350 AVL (its called Machismo in India) before coming to the US on work.
The distinct heart beat or exhaust note of the bullet is something that I can never forget. I was not aware until a week back that the REs are sold in the US. I am planning to buy one very soon. I have never seen/experienced the UCE. Has the exhaust note of the bullet changed because of the new UCE engine? The AVLs definitely sounded very different from the Standard bullet.

Welcome to the group.
I had the muffler off of mine today. I couldn't resist starting it with the muffler off.
Sounded good, just like my old Iron motors.
When REM designed the UCE the Thump was critical to the design. I guess in India someone will go into a dealer and start all the bikes and buy the one that sounds the best to them. If they would have made a motor that didn't sound like an Enfield they wouldn't sell any of them.
I think you'll be happy with one.

TK,
Welcome!
Although I've not heard one, I am certain that the UCE engine sounds just like a thumper like the AVL and like the Classics before it.
It is the general characteristic of the engine that makes it so thumperish - this has never changed.
Maybe I'm not as particular...I enjoyed my Yamaha SR500's, my Yamaha SRX-6, my Harley Davidson Sprint 350SX, and now most of all my 2006 Electra X. That unique sound still turns the heads of those Harley big twin riders in an apparent "What's that?" glance! But I'll never be able to tell a Classic from and AVL by sound only.

My C5 UCE sounds more throatier than the 07 Electra I'm riding at the moment. I've noticed the difference more than my friends 07 Bullet 350 but that could be because I've not ridden the 350.
I don't think you'll be disappointed though, sounds like a British solo alright!

To a fine tuned Indians ear the thump of the UCE will be favored over the AVL thump.

I've heard the RUMOUR that the new UCE with the old-style "short" 350cc two baffle silencer on it sounds absolutely delightful ..... Of course if such a thing were to be done, it would be strictly for off-road use, etc ..... IF someone had done it or something .....
