Steering Dampeners?
« on: May 31, 2009, 04:16:14 PM »
now that the new UCE engine is suitable for riding the grand superslab at speed, i was curious as to any solutions for steering dampeners to prevent wobble at highway speeds. it would be ideal to have one of the old style ones that you can adjust yourself, but i was just wondering if CMW had anything for this.

Not the answer you're looking for, but I haven't noticed any need for one.
If you're experiencing any white-knuckle moments, you should check things over before spending money (rear shocks, steering head adjustment, tire pressures, etc).

Have wished you had a dampner?

no, i'm just curious as to the validity of getting one. aside from a great retro accessory, i've hear tales of steering wobbling at greater than 60mph for the new UCE bikes. this could be simply the C5, but if i'm going to be doing some cross country riding to get to school at the end of August, i'm going to need as little wobble as i can manage.

Huh.  Haven't kep up on the UCE bike very much...

Well, there are many dasmpeners out there.  Google is your friend.  Maybe look at some other websites like Triumph Rat, Advrider, Cycle world, etc for possible ideas and reviews?
