Convert YOUR Royal Enfield to the shift pattern that The Queen and Albion meant for it to have!
This conversion moves the shifter to the “RIGHT” (correct!) side of the bike and features the also correct Albion shifting pattern of 1UP and 4DOWN for the most authentic English riding effect. One Hundred Dollars OFF!! WAS $399.95 – Now, bargain priced at - $299.95

Wasn't the 5 speed designed for LH shifting, so this would be adding cumbersome linkages?  Or not?

Also, it looks like the 5 speed one with the 1d/4u kit is cheaper, so is that the simpler one?  Less breakable linkages?

Nope, the 5 speed is designed for both for RH shift and LH shift.  You just plug one hole and change the cover and one linkage.

However the rear brake was designed as left handed and has a bunch of bodge linkage there.    I put the RH shift on my bike.  Love it,  the brake improvement was a very pleasant surprise.

My 2000 KS has the 1 up,3 down RH 4 speed shift, and I love it...very crisp,no slop,or false neutrals...and,like Gary said, the rear brake REALLY works well now...my 2002 ES has the stock LH,1 down 3 up,4 speed shifter...clunky,sloppy,and tempermental...I really want to make the change,so both have the RH shift...any chance of getting one for $199 again? I'd order one today... ;D

You said a mouthful there, Freddy! God and the Queen INTENDED for the shifting to be done by the RIGHT (correct!) foot. I've had "lefty's" for years - but due to my good initial training, I still try to occasionally shift the brake pedal on the darn stuff when I'm good and relaxed. Thank goodness for the Norton, Triumph and BSA stuff "in the barn". I plan to convert the Enfields to proper shifting soon!  ;)
Spare the pig iron - spoil the part!
