Tried my Bullet out two up
« on: September 13, 2009, 04:06:40 PM »
Took Mrs Chasfield on the pillion today - first time out  on the bike with two adults. My son had been on the back plenty of times but he's only 10, so I hardly noticed his extra weight (careful where you're going with this - Mrs Chasfield).

The machine rolled along quite nicely two-up and low speed handling was particularly sure footed - I was able to come to a halt at junctions pro-style with feet up on the pegs. I think 19 inch wheels help here.

The motor had to work a bit harder on up-slopes (didn't I say be careful - Mrs Chasfield)

Ouch!

I have to go now.

So, Br. Chas, did the Missus hit you with a stiff left jab, followed by a right cross to the temple and culminating with a nearly fatal left uppercut to the chin?  :D

Nah, body shots only, no visible marks -  to spare my embarrassment in social situations, you understand.

First and, I think, about the only time I rode as a pillion passenger was on an old Norton dirt bike.  I must have weighed about 150 pounds then and we went out hill climbing along with my next door neighbor on his Triumph Cub.  I didn't think about it much at the time, but, my, we sure rode some steep hills, a lot of ravines and so on and he handled the bike as though I wasn't on the back.  Still impressed by that.

Malia says no way will she ride on the back of my bike, so that's it for now.
