Nice work mate! Looks and performance, can't complain eh!

So performance wise, is using an Electra muffler better than say the C5 upsweep silencer? 4hp is a pretty nice boost, what does the upswept give?

J
I'm still waiting on the upswept exhaust, I've ordered and paid for one, if it ever arrives I'll let you know how it compares

Sooooooooo, when you go to Starbucks to compare dyno charts with all your Harley buds how do you work the butt dyno in to the conversation?

Muffler looked (looks) good. Thanks for the idea!

Yup,
35 yrs worth of em. Always had something British around if I felt like riding though.
Even got a dyno chart around someplace.
Never been in a Starbucks though.
Never thought too highly of dyno charts or Starbucks.
My last HD convinced me that I'll never have another one, at least a Evo or a Twinkie.

Yeah, I gave up on HD's 20 years ago, Britt stuff was always more fun to ride. I've never seen a Starbucks or a dyno machine!

Not to change the subject but how did the seat on the C5 feel after 300 miles or so?

I really don't have any complaints with the seat, 300 miles wasn't bad at all. I've done several 2 to 3 hundred mile days on it comfortably.

About ALL of us have tripped and fallen into the Harley trap at ONE time or another .... I still have a soft spot in my head for a generator Shovel model - with the "Full Floteing" saddle ..... talk about your big old COMFY seat! Hahaha!!
Spare the pig iron - spoil the part!

So where did you source just the muffler.  I looked at the online shop and only found full exhaust systems (unless I misread something, which is possible...)

Ha, my favorite HD was a 68 FLH.
Had about 190 K on it at the end of my 18 yrs of riding it all over the country.
1 top to bottom overhaul and a few top end jobs. Only left me stranded once.
I wish I could put that saddle on my G5.

CJ - As I recall - you could use that Full Floteing saddle as a GARAGE for a G5! Hahaha! I think it's quite interesting that we BOTH have a soft spot in our head for the same bike .... I loved the tractor torque of that heep - and the fact that it was well tuned with its "primitive" points and Zenith carb - and would start with one mighty swat right off the bottom of the kicker - EVERY time. An Enfield is all that, for sure .... and maybe even a little more because you CAN get one through a standard doorway and into your living room ....  ;D

That'd be CMW part number Z90373 .....

Thankks for the part number.  I put that into the online store and got 0 results.  I'll check the good  ol' paper catalog

Just got done installing my new silencer on my G5, the same one Dannie put on his C5. Thanks for the inspiration Dannie! Also thanks to Dannie and ScooterBob for the tips in customizing the installation to make it fit. Looks, and sounds good!!! You can also feel the extra power in the butt dyno.  :D Still waiting on a heat shield to cover the seam between the head pipe and the silencer. Here is a couple pics of it and one of a few of my toys (to make you all jealous) ;D

Chris, that muffler looks great on your bike! They do sound and perform great don't they? You made your good looking bike even better looking.
