I installed this windshield over the weekend:

http://www.amazon.com/Slipstreamer-HD-0-Police-Windshield-Clear/dp/B0012TT6IA

Haven't yet been out at highway speed to see what it does. Regarding angle -- I assume the goal is to tilt it so that the plane of the windscreen extends just above the top of my head? (I am a tall person with a big head, so for me that would mean nearly vertical.)

It's versatile (you can turn the clamps various ways, reverse them, etc. to get slightly different mounting positions). These photos of the windshield on my bike show what seem to be the best mounting position on a RE (although it will need to be tilted closer to the vertical).

The handlebar clamps aren't exactly even, because in this orientation the right-hand clamp bumps up against the brake fluid reservoir.

I chose something a litte bigger than Rich, that has worked out nicely. It's the perfect height for me, but I am short, so you might need to angle differently. It makes a BIG difference, especially because I am so small. The bike rides very nicely even on the Interstate with it.

It looks like the right handlebar clamp could move slightly downward on the bar.
That might move the lower end of the right hand upright to a inward position that would clear the brake and allow the windshield to move towards the right to balance it up a bit with the casquette.

The difficult thing about installing these windshield supports is the number of permutations and combinations are endless. :)

A windscreen for sure after my last big ride doing 70mph for 600 miles. You get blown around so much on the bullet to the point it is nearly hard to hold on. I had to get there though. Am looking for one too. The bubble sounds like the go.

It fits fine -- but the clamps loosened on my very first ride. In the morning I'll tighten everything up and Loctite it before I head out on a long trip.

Like the DX screen, wildbill!
Looks to have a pretty robust mount, too. Nice add-on, and doesn't detract form the bike.

I just invested in, and installed a National Cycle DX windshield, Wildbill was kind enough & very helpful in this matter, I installed it last night and this morning rode up to Lake Tahoe, CA. this is a 150 mile one way trip in 25 mph winds, this windshield made a HUGE difference in my ride, I didn't feel like I was going to fall of the bike and I noticed that I was very much relaxed ad not tired after that long ride..I'm a big fan now. :D
