The oil they recommend now or the oil that they recommended in the 1940's when the engine was designed? You know when they took the contemporary oil into consideration when they designed the tolerences and servicing frequencies? The frequencies that people ignore and change the oil twice as frequent despite using modern oils?

In my iron barrel Electra , I'm using Motul 5100 15W50 in the engine and Gulf 10W30 for the clutch.

These iron barrels run good with whatever 20W50 oil you feed them. But i trust Motul. Got a nice fruity smell as well.

I don't have an owners manual, and if I did it would be written in "Indian".

Kinda true. I have to cipher the "Indian British English" when using service manual.
But is all part of the fun of owning a Bullet. Pictures help some too.
