Mid Ohio
« on: January 12, 2010, 07:38:05 PM »
Does anyone here make it to this event? I've been attending for the last three years and meet up with a coulpe RE enthusiasts that I've " met " on another board.
Although the vintage racing has taken a hit due to a falling out with two big groups the swap meet and massive number of British bikes around make it well worth a visit. it'ss around 75 bucks for weekend pass with camping and the paddock is open to everyone. And no I have no affiliation with Mid Ohio .
I know it's difficult to get together with othere RE folks due to distance but for anyone East coast Mid south or mid west it's pretty doable. For all I know some of you may be going already and this is old news but just thought I would throw it out there.

I've been camping with the guys from the Britbike forum for the last three years. Don't know if you've ever happened by. We're down at the end of the first camp road by the woods. Always happy to see new faces.

I missed last year, too lazy to camp in the mud ! but have been to the last 5 . The fleamarket is very good, and the variety of classic bikes keeps you busy all day.
The hardest part is cramming all the gear on a 2 wheeled vehicle.

I've been strictly a "hotel" guy when there - I'll be in, on or around vendor booth P8, P9 or P10 - depending on how the powers that be screw up this year .... Hahahaha!! That booth is across from the chicane after turn one on the other side of the main drag. I hope to perhaps HAVE an Enfield there this year .....  ;D

The featured bike this year is Husqvarna, last year,BSA,and Triumph the year b-4.
Lots of 2 smoke's will clog the air with "bean oil" and other wonderful smells.
The Brit Bike group will still have a section in the camping area,It makes for a very large grin, it's a great group, some drinking required !

The campground is the best part of the VMD.
