I always use this method and it works everytime..
...

........I have 1997 Machismo..In winters, to start my "BULL" I turn on the Ignition, press compressor and simultaneously kick 5-6 times continuously(remember to hold the compressor release pulley ), after that kick the bike slowly to the end without accelerator....you will hear a sound of little throttle...then try it again ...the bike will be start...

> after the bike start don't give the acceleration immediately(let it start for approx 15 - 20 secs.)
> in winters 1 of the major reason for starting problem is BATTERY...please make sure the battery will be in good condition if you are expecting good performance from your BULL.


> The most important thing that wenever you are trying to start your BULL you should have patience...BULL never start if you try to start BULL in hurry

My enfield arrived yesterday - kickstart only on a 500 trials. Many thanks for this advice - Was struggling yesterday. Today took your advice exactly and I started from cold in 2 kicks. Brilliant. Thank you.

   Yep, this is am excellant technique. On my 2007 Classic iron, I usually only give it one pre-start kick with the key off, teh turn it over a bit more to find TDC, and it almost always fire with one kick after that.

What I want to know is where in the Wide, Wide World of Sports was all this good advice when I was 15 and faced with a BSA single that more compression than a Lantz BullDog Diesel tractor? I learned the HARD way about gettin' 'em wet and finding TDC, as well as swattin' one like you HAD a pair .... As with anything of English origin, the Bullet is all about HOW you kick - not how MUCH you kick. That old BSA knocked the heel off the best pair of boots that I ever had and kept me crippled for weeks before I figgered out the ways of demon combustion ..... Heeheehee!!
