The new 2010 parts catalog is finally in the mail!! Getting it finished this year was a bit of a debacle but it is finally done. We took production of it in-house and now have control over it so the 2011 should be more timely.

They are sent 3rd class so it should be at least a week until any of you see it.
You will note it is no longer the CMW catalog, but rather the NField Gear catalog.
You will still get our usual great (or not lol) service as we are doing all of the back room stuff for NField Gear.

We will have a new webstore that will be much faster very soon as well

Congratulations for a good job with this new NfieldGear Catalog. I like it. I have two comments -

1. On page 3, the SOLID SQUARE has 4-speed on the abbreviations and 5-speed on the expanded text. Which is right or is it for both ? See the picture below.

2. This is a suggestion, that in your Next 2011 catalog - can you replace these spades, circles, solid circle, squares and all that indecipherable symbols with following ALPHABET symbols that are easily understandable. Because it is very frustrating that for every item you have to flip back to page 3 to see which model is that for.

B=Bullet, ES=Electric Start, 5Sp=5 Speed, KS=Kick Start and so on.

C5, G5, AVL, Elec, B65, BES5Sp, BES4Sp, BKSo4Sp would be easily translatable to C5, G5, AVL (lean burn), Electra, Bullet 65, Bullet Electric Start 5 Speed, and so on. Of course on page 3, you can have DETAILED description of design, model etc. Just remove the symbols completely.

I looked at the spacing also, there will be no problem fitting them anywhere in your catalog. You can always select FONT SIZE to fit. If symbols can fit then these can also fit. I have typed ALPHABET SYMBOLS UNDER THE UNDECIPHERABLE SYMBOLS - MAKES MUCH EASIER to see where this handle bar will fit - See second picture attached to this post.

Funny - All I remember was the howling about "ES" "BO" "ELB" "KS" "SOB", "DVD" HD-DVD", etc ... If CMW would have added "C5" "G5" "G5D" "C5M" to the mix, there would have been mutiny .... The Parts Man is right - you got one symbol to memorize ... that's MUCH easier according to the American Psychiatric Journal .....

Everyone memorize ONE symbol only - don't bother about other models -

IMHO these symbols are like road blocks and potholes and bumps that if you open a catalog you want to avoid !

According to the same journal - it is MUCH easier to remember a Letter than a symbol

I vote to do away with the symbols and replace with numeric subscript.^1,2

Since we a pointing out flaws, anyone else notice the front and rear Avons have their pictures reversed?

Gee - and I'll bet not a single email came into CMW to volunteer to EDIT the catalog .... That's OK though - if you are looking for flaws - you'll find stuff you'll NEED! Hahaha! (Maybe that was done ON PURPOSE!)
