The center stand prevents me from getting my oil-catching bucket under the drain.

I drain mine on the side stand, standing it up (and leaning to the right a bit) to get more out. This also makes it easy to reach the drain plug and sump filter!

Scott - you should be asleep at this time on a Sunday morning!

I was up doing my 10k service, about 1,000 miles late :). Busy with family stuff, this was the first chance I've had to get to it.  Like others have reported, everything looked fine.  No apparent deterioration in the oil pump gear or the seal.

At a little I've 11k miles the front sprocket shows some wear.  You can't really see it but you can feel it.  For reference I replaced the stock chain at 6,500 with a DID standard.  I had tried a LoobMan automated oiler and then switched to Maxima chain wax with this new chain.  Neither worked terribly well for me as I've had fairly frequent chain adjustments on the new chain.  I'm going switch to a mre traditional lube for the remainder of the chain's life.

There was a chain lube comparison in Motorcycle Consumer guide in the early '90s and Chain Wax did not fare well. The top ones at the time were PJ1 Blue and I think PJ1 Black was second. I currently use Motorex Racing Chain Lube and it has worked quite well for me.
I changed to a tsubaki O-ring chain at 6500 miles and at 13,500 I havent had to touch the chain. The 1-1/2" chain slack is unchanged.

I hear good things about PJ1, I'll probably go get some. I think waxes and otger dry lubes are fine for oring chains but not traditional.

Has there ever been a chain lube comparison with more than a few thousand miles?  It seems they mostly focus on how easy they are to put on, how clean or messy, and how the reviewers "feel" about them.  Unless you run 10k or more on one lube on one chain you don't really know squat.

Not today, but yesterday I finished part 1 of my trip from Austin to NYC. 1006 trouble free miles from central Texas to Murfreesboro. I'll do part 2 next month.

Motorat - check this link?  It brought me to a screen accusing me of attempting to edit a video I shouldn't be editing!  I found the video by searching the YouTube site for the "ofpNolkylDc" ID number...

I'm very envious of your exhaust note!  Mine sounds nothing like that - no thump at all.  Mine is the 98 pound weakling at the beach, while yours is the muscle-bound girlfriend-stealing tough guy who kicks sand in mine's face...  >:(
