Replaced front fender with an old school Bullet 500 fender. Made 3 new hoop struts and it fit perfectly. The original teal C5 fender just about fit over the 3.5x19 K70 but the left lower strut had to be bent to go around the disc brake and this was aesthetically a bit of an irritant for the past year.  The 500 fender fits perfectly as do the struts.  Only problem is that I now have a Teal C5 "partial" Chrome!  ;D

 Looks great !  But how come I don't see snow in the background ?  ???  ;D ;)

This is perhaps the coolest C5 on the block. And it probably is the older 2009/10 version. I love the seat as well, which one is it sir, and does it fit well or you modified the frame /seat. Cheers

Mcurrier, Scott, GHG, Bradey,
Thank you!

GHG,
We got dumped with almost 2 feet of snow a couple of weeks ago setting a new record for May! I think ScooterBob might have seen a few inches as well!

Bradey,
It is a Triumph seat. I have a detailed post on this. Just search for Triumph seat on C5.

I think with the chrome crash bars etc, that chrome fender looks good. Gives it kind of a custom look IMHO.

GSS - Where did you order that fender from?  It looks very similar to my '58 fender that is beat up and ratty.

I got it from our hosts at Nfieldgear.com.......basically picked up a couple of front and rear 500cc fenders from their scratch and dent section to play with. This was in nice shape except that all the holes on the left and right side were off by 1/8", but it was an easy fix as I had symmetric hoop struts and I simply offset the holes in the struts 1/16" on each side for a perfect fit!

It breaths charisma. Above picture could as well be promotional. 8) 8)

What was the reason for the wrap on the exhaust? Any other but looks?

I started wrapping headers for looks, but realistically I'm the most impatient man alive and in the past the wrap has let me work on the bike while it's still hot without burning myself haha.
Thanks for the compliments!

Short trip today after lowering my tire pressures to 18 front/24rear.
Headed out for a fill-up and noted the tar used to fill the cracks in the streets here was just soft enough to give me a few gentle reminders on the turns.  :-[

McCurrier, what exhaust have you on yours? I'm planning a similar mod, but haven't decided on which to buy. Like the look.

arizoni, what did the HD one cost, and how does it's sound compare with the stock bazooka? Really like the look of yours as well.

Today I lubed my clutch cable and gave my OEM paper air filter a few blasts of air to dislodge a bit of the dust it had accumulated by blowing it from the outside towards the inside.

I got the Sportster silencer from one of our great fellow members here on the forum at a very good price.  This was after I had tried getting a used one from the big Hardly dealer here.  He (the dealer) didn't even want to talk about selling one.

Just about the first thing a Hardly owner does when they get their bike is to strip off the stock mufflers.  They end up on ebay or craigslist all the time with prices ranging from $50 on up.
I found the box stock silencer was more restrictive than the OEM silencer so I ended up drilling some holes thru the center plug that forces the exhaust outward thru the perforated tubing.  I guess the total area of holes I ended up drilling was about the same as a 5/16 inch hole.
When I'm on the throttle it is slightly louder than the OEM torpedo at WOT but when up to speed and cruisen it has a fairly mellow thump that is barely audible.
By the way, by limiting the amount of the open area my drilling added, the engine almost never backfires during deceleration.
