How many teeth does your rear sprocket have? For the 20/21T countershaft to be geared right, it should have 46T.

Yeah, it's a 46 tooth rear bare.

Installed some bar end mirrors.  I like the look of bar ends, not sure these are keepers, but the price was right -  free.  Got them from a guy at work that had them sitting around from a project he had gotten rid of already.

Nice azcatfan!

If you decide they are not keepers, I need mirrors for the Blackhawk.  ;)

azcatfan - are your pilot-light ("tiger-eye"?) lenses OEM?  Mine are clear, I think, whereas yours look opaque...

We came back from a 100 km ride. Fully loaded with an estimated 400 kg total weight (bike, rider, pillion and luggage).
The last 50 km we must have averaged 130 km per hour GPS with an indicated 137 km per hour GPS top speed....and there was still power left......
That's definitely more than 40 Hp - probably around 42 to 45 Hp

As far as I know, they are.  The original owner documented every little thing he did to this bike when he had it.  Every detail, right down to cable adjustments and gas cap replacements.  No mention of replacing the Tiger Eye covers.  Maybe they changed things up in later years  ??? Most of the Iron Barrel bikes I have seen have the cloudy pilot covers, but most of the RE owners I know have UCE and they are clear-er.

Hi, you can get those mirrors on Ebay for about $17. if you hunt. Mine are silver. I have them at the ends of my Bikemaster Superbike Bars on my G5 Deluxe, WITH my bar-end Signals. I like them, They don't seem to vibrate, so Light Bars, even a few cars back, are easily seen.

Oh cool!  That's reasonable for bar ends.  And man do I love the Super Bike bars, they are so comfy and the perfect height for my bike.  Ascetically, my favorite mod so far.  I actually trimmed 1" off of each end of my bars.  I like 'em narrow.  :D

Those look great!  I figured he wasn't deep in the pocket for them when he gave them to me.

Only thing that was a little unsettling was installing the right side mirror, had to trim and drill the end plug of the accelerator handle to get everything to fit and free movement on the grip.

I rarely use my mirrors anyway, if I'm changing lanes I look several times over my shoulder in the direction I'm going to move to.  I find the movement of my helmet is as  much an indicator as my turn signals for the cagers that actually see me.  Most of the mirror use is watching for people who are arriving too quickly to a stop behind me.

Well, I adjusted the timing to 34* full advance and it does seem like it runs better and and has better acceleration.  I had to turn down the idle about 3/4 of turn, so I'm obviously more advanced than I was previously.  It doesn't sound like it's detonating either, but my pipes are so loud it's hard to tell for sure.  I did notice that my pipes looked bluer than before the timing change around where they first curve down out of the motor.  Maybe.  ???  BUT I only hit a top speed of 93mph.    :-\

Picked B5 up from the Dealer (Winter Storage AND AVL piston install)

had a nice, sedate, ride home.  I'll let the new rings seat for a couple hundred miles before I try it out for real !
