Thanks Guys!

The lens should be fine, I had to put my heat gun on the high setting and it took a couple of minutes before I could form it.  That little 1157 bulb will never get that hot.

And that sounds like quite the sketchy ride bare!

Hi Scottie, Have you considered trying one of the 1157 LED Bulbs. I got some off Ebay cheap, & have used them for about 5 years. Low heat, less electrical drain. They are great.

Yes I have Craig.  I actually want to install a LED in the headlight and the taillight.  I just haven't decided if I want to go with a HID or LED in the headlight.

Scottie, I have shied away from the HID headlight bulb, because it requires extra wiring & $$. I have a Xenon bulb that seems good enough, due to my Diamond cut reflector & clear non diffusing Glass. I'd like to try an LED headlight bulb, as I have not seen one in action yet. I do run an LED in my headlights pilot bulb position, to save my more expensive bulb for night time.
Best Wishes, Craig McClure

We went on a trip fro the weekend - 250 km up and 250 km back. On the return I lost the spring of the side stand - luckily I had some cable ties - 70 km onwards the clutch cable broke at the clutch lever. Try to fix it with the inside of an electrical connector block but the cable was too short when installed (the clutch remained in the engaged position). I did not have the proper equipment with me to shorten the sleeve. We were stranded in the one horse town - 3 Hours later we managed to source a Japanese type cable - some improvisation later and we were back on the road. The last 50 km we had to reduce speed to between 60 and 70 km per hour on the freeway - gale force wind made this the most difficult part of the trip.

I forgot - I also noticed the petrol tank bracket at the head steady bracket broke. Do I really need this bracket or would the bracket on the opposite site suffice?

Rode to work today after being off the bike for a while.  The old battery had just enough juice to start the bike.  I have a new one on the shelf, I'll need to sway it out when I get home tonight.

Did the first oil change at 300 miles on a 2014 C5.

The oil didn't look that bad, and while there was gunk on the suction filter, I've seen pictures on here that had worse. Just a few bits of sealant and the rest was unidentifiable muck.

The magnets had some shavings on them, but I didn't see any large bits of metal.

Honestly, that doesn't look that bad for a first oil change.

Typical. It'll look a lot better at the next change.  ;D
Rather than have a homeless person for the holidays, I decided to stick with ham.

Was on my way to work and the bike started spiting gas on my leg from the top of the fuel line.  Fortunately, I was only about a mile from home when I noticed and all I had to do to fix it was tighten the hose clamp.

Took the bike to the car wash and gave her a good cleaning and finished off at home with a full detail.
