What did you do to your Royal Enfield today?

Flat tire, second in 3 months.

I pulled the rear wheel off and dropped it over to the local bikeshop. Cannot be bothered changing the tube myself.

I picked up my beast today after its spragotectomy. The bearings and cages that engage the clutch were demolished! Surprising that it worked as well as it did, that only means it wasn't 100% dead. It would still start the engine after a few tries when it was warm. If it was cold out, fergetaboutit. But I got to ride the 50 miles home today. It was nice out and light traffic and just a good, fun, therapeutic ride!

Can the rear section swivel? It looks like it could.

its the rear seat from a c5 and a rack from the Canadian re catalog spaced to fit.
the rail came with the c5 rear seat.

Opened the shed door, looked longingly in on my ride......   dusted the snow off my shoulders as I closed the shed door and went back inside.

the AGM battery & new chain are still sitting on the workbench.  Still waiting for them to self-install.......

Gremlin - There's a fresh inch of snow on top of the foot we already have on the ground... I feel your pain.   I've also got a new chain and quart of fork oil standing by, plus some other odds and ends on the way.  My stuff never self installs, though.

Today was a fairly warm day in Texas, one of the first in the last two weeks.  I was installing a new hot water heater in my home and needed some flexible copper pipe, so I figured it'd be a nice opportunity to take out the bike and run an errand.

Dead battery.

So I kickstarted it up and enjoyed a quick run out to my local hardware store.

I still don't understand why every bike doesn't come with a kickstart.  I've never known anyone to say, "I really wish my bike didn't have a kickstart", and everyone who's ever had one has been happy they did at least once.
