Been smelling gas recently when opening my garage door. Further investigation revealed a slight pin hole in the weld on the right rear of my tank . I pulled the tank off to get a better eyeball on the leak and discovered the top motor mount was broken. Damn ! Too many trouble free miles I guess . I contacted my dealer and He is hooking me up with a revised motor mount and to my suprise a brand new tank. Thank God for the 2 year warranty. I made a temporary motor mount out of some flat stock and put some JB Weld on the pin hole so at least I can ride it until the new parts come in.

Just got back froma nice little ride..had lunchon the way. Bike did not want to start, I am pretty sure I flooded it using the little ckoke control lever. I could smell gas. Once I cranked it w/o choke it cleared its throat and ran fine.

Weather permitting (and the hourly weather forecast suggests that it will), I'm planning to do a 118-mile loop tomorrow to see what kind of MPG I get in highway riding.

I don't get what it's for.  By design there's not enough friction to hold it in place, you have to hold it there, it says so in the manual.  All my other bikes it styas where you put it.  So if it won't stay open on its own what's the difference between that and opening the throttle a crack?  Aside from the fact that it's much easier and more comfortable to open the throttle.

Now that I think about it, may as well take if off and have one less cable.
