Today I crossed the hundred mile mark. The ride is already smoother than it was when I drove her home on friday. Man... I like this bike.

Put in one of the controversial Barsnakes.  I think it does do some dampening while cruising.  Actually, my mirrors are steadier at idle too.  Then I added new Driven 2 ply Gel Grips, the kind that aren't soft on the outside, and rode again.  I do like the grips better than OEM ones.  If I had to choose, I'd take the $14 grips over the snake.

here's something that worked for me. if i took off and the bike was a bit on -vibration wise - i would pull over and stop and back in 1st gear work my way back to cruising speed.
most of the time the vibration dropped dramatically

Wildbill, I didn't have a major problem.  Certainly nothing that would require me to stop and start over - that indicates a big problem with the bike's setup if you ask me.  I'm just playing around with things.  I didn't like the stock grips and was going to replace them with something else anyway.  After this experiment I wouldn't invest in the snake if I was serious about a vibration problem.  There isn't $45 worth of improvement.  But then, I'm just seeing how calm I can get the bars without hanging weights off the ends or pouring shot down the tube.  Shot is for trap loads, not handlebars.

I installed the Pro Grip Enduro grips.  Super comfy and really reduced the vibrations quite a bit for not having bar end weights installed.

Had a nice ride in the hills at lunchtime with some friends at work.  Hit the rev limiter a few times.  An RE was not made to chase a Bandit 1250.

True enough but I bet that 1250 Bandit is lousy on trails.  ;)
I can break it better,,,,at night, in the rain, on the trail,, 20 miles from nowhere.

I hit a bump in the highway at 80mph and caught some air time!  It was scarily fun.    :D

Before, the gps was strapped around the brake fluid box. Raindrops hindered readability and generally the device was out of my line of sight.
Using a leftover from a repair to stairs all of these were solved.
It has already been tested in the rain, doesn't get a drop while riding.
