Reminds me of when I used Pine-sol to clean my BMW carbs - I was clueless, and the person instructing me fail to mention that I should dilute it with water. I was afraid I killed them; they went super-dull battleship-gray, and lots of gunk (oxidized material?) sloughed off when I tried to clean them:

Just broke 900 miles on the clock this morning. Since my street will be re-paved over the next two days , a perfect time to do an early oil change, and clean and polish. She's really smoothed out and I'm getting the hang of using the bi starter to kick start her. Hi, just wondering how cold it is that you have to use the bi starter. We had a (too) long cold winter and I had only to use it a couple of times with temps in the 20's Fahrenheit.
