Replaced diamond crash bar with butterfly.
It has a snag: the top bar hinders the RR-unit. Trafficator lights also come akwardly close to the wings with the handlebar at lock. In stead of relocating the RR-unit, the bottom struts of the former crash bar were recycled, which took care of both issues.

I like the saddle bags - they look like mine - are they army issue? It was very difficult for me to source?

Yes, they are british army issue, and from an army dump in the uk.
They are very wide and adapt easily to odd shapes like vegetables ea. Makes them excellent for all duty.

I don't know whether these are still available but the key word is musette bag (although mine aren't exactly that; sorry the matter gets confusing at times).
If I can retrieve the site I'll come back to you.

My 2011 G5 passed 12,000 miles today.

Still running great with no niggles except for a burned out speedometer light bulb. :)

I'm using these; very spacious inside.  These were just $15.99 ea. a couple of weeks ago with free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

I installed my new Napoleon bar end mirrors because I was so displeased with the stock mirrors' field of view.  They're not the cheapest bar end mirrors around but they are definitely solid and well-built.  The field of view is now fantastic.  I recommend them highly.

I just received my new tapper cover in the mail from Bsheets. A huge thank you to Brandon- your Dad is an artist- this beautifully made cover is perfection in form and function. Going green with envy is an acceptable response, but I think you should all petition Mr Sheets to go into business making these.
Thank you Brandon, the tim tams are on their way!

Royalista,
Silvermans - that's correct - I also got 2 bags there and then another 2 of slightly later edition but identical - ex. SA army. The problem with Sivermans was that he did not want to send them to SA. I had to wait until somebody came to visit and brought them with.

Saw it sold for parts.  A friend with a towing company gave me the link (not a public auction, just for licensed thieves).  It was listed as having a parts only title, not rebuildable, not registerable and described as doesn't start/doesn't run, bent frame, damaged trans, and damage as "Broken: All Over".
You'll probably see the parts on eBay soon.  :'(

Lubed my chain with some PJ1 Blue Label.  This is the third application of this lube and I've noticed it doesn't seem to sling off of the chain like the PJ1 Black Label does.
I also replaced the burned out light bulb in my speedometer.
Loosened the top headlight clamp screw, removed the bulb holder, replaced the bulb, inserted the bulb holder and retightened the top headlight clamp screw.
Will these difficult tasks ever end?  ;D

Took my bike out for what will most likely be the last ride of the season today [but I sure as heck hope not ;) ]
Brought it up to second oil change time, so timing seems good. As always, as I drove about and stopped at various places it was great to answer the common question:
"How old is that?"
I just smile and tell them it's a 2014  8)

Beautiful fall day here in Jasper, in the North Georgia Mountains. I took the opportunity of the nice weather to run errands in town on my 2010 G5 deluxe. I hadn't been on it in several weeks of cold wet dismal weather. Today it performed magnificently on the mountain roads & crowded Saturday village streets. It drew a small crowd in front of WalMart, who were amazed it was recently made in India. I held it at 65 all the way up the mountain to home. Reaching home I parked it on its center stand before switching off the engine, walked up to the mail box & back, & MY SIGHT GLASS WAS TOTALLY FULL UP. But I have decided not to worry(or complain anymore), it runs & starts perfect, Doesn't leak, & my crankcase breather tube is routed to the rear of the bike. Theoretically it will blow off unwelcome oil.
ALMOST EVERYTHING WAS RIGHT WITH THE WORLD TODAY.
Best Wishes, Craig McClure

My bike sometimes has a full sight glass after a run too.  Just put it on the center stand and check again later, it settles down.
